Something to Sing About

This is a Lit Radio crossed with What's your mood today type of thread. It comes off a random thought about the Buffy episode, Once More With Feeling. If you don't know it, then the basic premise is that an entire town turns into a musical. There's an explanation for why it's happened and a bad guy to vanquish, but the main driving force of the plot is that whenever someone feels strongly about something, they find themselves bursting into song. This means lots of secrets spilled and things said which probably shouldn't've been.

So, if Literotica was visited by Sweet and we all had to sing whenever something made us feel strongly (or the plot demanded it), what would you be singing about right now and to whom?

I'd be singing about love to a girl that I do love, whilst reiterating the many reasons I can't and shouldn't have her. How bout you?

I'd be singing about that jazzed feeling I get when I know a secret, something that no one else knows. I don't have one right now, but I love that sensation.

I did burst into song, and just this afternoon.

It was in the car. I think the title would have been something like, "Haul Ass!" The lyrics suggested that the woman ahead of me get off the phone and onto the accelerator. Catchy chorus!

Haul ass
Hang the fuck up and Haul Ass
It's just too congested to pass
So we're countin on you to Haul Ass

She was driving a Ford Focus, but the font they use makes it read "Fecus" on the rear panel, which I believe is Latin for "piece of shit."

I'd be singing something along the lines of "I wish you were here, or I was there."

A song about wanting to say all the things you know you should and won't without actually saying any of those things.

I just finished singing "I'm Getting Married in the Morning" from My Fair Lady, but I twisted it a bit.

"I'm getting published in November, I just did the interview..." :D

the seasonal twist would be " I'm getting Buried in the Morning..."

No songs at that point. :p

don't you think a ghoul dancing in the moonlight would think they had something to sing about?

(esp appropriate given the Buffy origins of the thread?)

I would sing a victorious song about how I cooked an awesome meal for my club (40 people) It was awesome and delicious and ambitious and I got tons of complements and then I got an award. And now I am in such a good and accomplished mood.

If I was that ghoul, no. I'd just want to kill.

Since you ask sirhugs, (and I am so enthused just now). It was a chinese moon festival theme event and I cooked an 8 dish chinese meal including the traditional moon cakes (such a bitch), and steamed pork buns, orange chicken, broccoli beef, spicy tofu&mushroom over spinach, turnip fritters, stirfried bok choy, and seseme noodles w/ onions. And rice of course. I'd been preparing for a month. :D

sounds delicious. my mouth is watering thinking about it. :D

was there singing along?

A song for housework:

16 Tons

Some people say a man is made outta mud
A poor man's made outta muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
A mind that's a-weak and a back that's strong

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine
I picked up my shovel and I walked to the mine
I loaded sixteen tons of number nine coal
And the straw boss said "Well, a-bless my soul"

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I was born one mornin', it was drizzlin' rain
Fightin' and trouble are my middle name
I was raised in the canebrake* by an ol' mama lion
Cain't no-a high-toned woman make me walk the line

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

If you see me comin', better step aside
A lotta men didn't, a lotta men died
One fist of iron, the other of steel
If the right one don't a-get you, then the left one will

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

Something about how frustrated I am at my lack of drive these days.

But I couldn't be arsed.

I came pretty close to bursting into song about 'Going Through The Motions' today. Still might, given the slightest provocation.
