Now, i've been reading literotica stories for a while, but i'm new to the message board, so please excuse me if i'm a bit of a "newbie":)

Anyway... it just bugs me, how every day, when i check the new stories, i see one, sometimes two, by this "belab" character... does anyone actually read these stories about hairy women? kinda grosses me out... but i just had to get that off my chest...
thanx for listening

Well, there are a lot of tastes out there. I was told that a lot of Cuban women don't shave their legs above the knee because Cuban men find it sexy.

Hi Longnstrong,

Hairy women...mm..what about that Cuban artist, Freda Kohl, Kohn, or what ever her name was. She had slight but dark moustache that her husband found really sexy. It's actually features in many of her self portrats. Apparantly he was furious when she shaved it off one day just to spite him after an argument.

I was reading though a list of fetishes a while back on the Alt site. You would be amazed at the number of different fetishes there are. Let me tell you there many far more incredible than hairy legged women.

Now hairy men, please don't get me started. There's simply nothing sexier than a hairy chest? Oh ..yes.. yes..YES!!

Have a great day,

Alex(fem)

Oh god hairy woman! yuk! what a turn off!
we spend so long making ourselves look smooth and hairless, i cant imagine anyone finding hairy woman a turn on.... sorry if thats narrow minded, just my opinion!

I would not judge anyone for their preferences. But with all the effort we expend on changing our bodies, I find it very refreshing to run into a man that appreciates my body for how it is naturally.

Who was it, exactly, that determined that women should shave their legs, pits, crotch and any other place that might display a few whisps of hair? And why did women buy into this?

It all started after the Korean war, if I remember correctly. Some of the GIs would pop over to some of the brothels and see the ladies were hairless. The reason behind that was the fact that lice was spread so easily. So, get rid of the majority of the hair and you hae gotten rid of most of the problem.
This is not proven fact, but I have heard many stories from the nice men at the VFW. They told me quite a bit!

Although I shave or wax my legs and bikini, I never shave under my arms. Trim it once in a while but that's it. Don't see the point and I find myself cooler and less sweaty there in the heat (has something to do with hair holding moisture away from the skin or something, I believe) and certainly do not miss that regrowth itch! My husband has no preference once way or the other, so I just can't be bothered. While I occasionally get some dirty looks when I go sleeveless (and always only from women, figure that out) I find many men almost seemingly transfixed by the sight of it!

hairy women

I tell you, I shave and wax everywhere and I wish I had never started! I feel there is nothing wrong with a hairy woman. There is nothing wrong with a hairy man!
We have become judgemental in society. We have begun to feel that being hirstute is a masculine thing, but we have to remember that our hair is where it is naturally and we shouldn't be ashamed of it.
Three cheers for nature and those who flaunt it!

BgMama, I agree there. But generally, women are less hairy than men, so hairless men are considered more androgynous. Which can be sexy.

But hairy women frighten men, I think. It's a sign of what a lot of men (and women) don't like to admit -- that women can be powerful in their sexuality.

I think men lie to themselves about what turns them on.
I used to think I didn't find hairy legs on a woman sexy, as well:

I met a beautiful dancer at a party. She had a really toned body and pretty face. But her legs were hairier than my own -- which are hairier than average.

I found it totally wierd. Maybe it was some statement, I thought. Maybe she was a dyke, I thought. I mentioned this woman to my wife about three weeks later, saying how odd it was to see such hairy legs on her. My wife said "are you still thinking about her?"

See, even Joe knows what I mean. It's a powerful thing to see a sexually agressive woman. Not letting anyone steer her with their own prejudices makes her unique.
You just can't think of anything else when a woman becomes strong.
It's a beautiful thing!

BgMama, I guess I'm not that typical. And it's taken me about 45 years to figure out that I'm not that typical. I'm planning on spending the next 45 years learning that probably nobody is typical. Most people are a mixture of desires and "weirdnesses". Ok, some are more orthodox nowadays. But that's relative. Look at the "desirable" shape that men have portrayed women in over the centuries.

Sadly, one of most long-lasting things is how women are generally put down and made to feel inadequate or freaks if they display "masculine" traits like aggression and physical power. Bummer for men like me (there's a lot of us) who find powerful women attracive!

Okay, I am sorry. I jumped the gun and I apologise, Joe.
I tend to get a bit over the top when I am jazzed about something! Sorry, I wasn't trying to....well, you know what I am saying here.

Hey, it's time for a smiley: I'm
I guess you thought "even" Joe being a man was possibly a little presumptious -- well, can I just get a little literate (pretentious, moi?) and quote a little from 'A Life of Colette' here:

She perceived instinctively that the child of either sex has desires classified too strictly as masculine or feminine: urges to penetrate, devour and possess; to be cherished, dominated and contained.

This was over 100 years ago. People started writing about this stuff that long ago (Colette was probably the first) , and we still have a long, long way to go.

Be literate; I live for it! Not quite, but close enough!
I have to concur that we all have a bit of growing to do, especially me since I am still a kitten!

It's kind of weird to have someone refer to pubic hair on a woman as a fetish and shaving as somehow the norm. When did THAT happen?

I also don't agree that body hair on a woman is a statement of aggression. Women naturally have hair. A triangle of pubic hair contrasting with the surrounding skin is a very feminine sight to me.

Anyway, there is nothing like a lush, neatly trimmed bush on a woman. I'll take that anyday over the shaved prepubescent look.

Things change so fast today. Think about it, forty years ago, you weren't treated like a person if you were black. The times change and like all things, so has the way we look at ourselves.
It's trendy as of the past ten years or so to be as hairless as possible. My own brother in law told me a full bush on a woman was a turn off. He cited many reasons, but none that rreally made sense.
Hair is good. Hair is natural. I wish that I had been this enlightened when I was younger. It's become a habit now to be shorn. It's difficult to break it, but I digress!
It's all trendy now. Oh, brother

hair or not?

Hair or not? It's all personal preference, obviously.
I'd like to cast my vote for whatever makes it hot for the individual and his/her partner(s). I'm a naturally hairy male, have been completely shorn (including my head, but not my arms) in the past. I didn't care for my hairless chest, legs or underarms (social conditioning?), but didn'tmind the rest. In fact, about once a year I shave my pubic hair and stay that way for a month or so.

My wife maintains a hairless mound, but sometimes slacks off under her arms and on her legs. All of which is fine with me. I prefer a hairless crotch for a woman, but find the difference (keyword, there, I think) of some underarm stubble sexy. I'm not sure how I'd like it if she just stopped shaving there.

I do find sex totally without pubic hair an extreme turn-on. Especially with the addition of a little oil! My wife describes it as "more like kissing".

Yes, underarm hair aids in sweat evaporation.

I recently charted the photos on NetNude (a STRICTLY non-erotic nudist site!!). About 30% of posts were shaven. I also found that there were more pics posted of smooth men than of women. Of course, men are greater exhibitionists than women (at least on that site), so there were more posts from men than from women anyway.

Just my 2 cents' worth.

We are all happy to hear what you have to say. After all, it wouldn't be a discussion without hearing all sides, would it?
Great to see you here.

Well I may be getting into unfounded and insupportable territory here but for what it's worth (and I personally like a full untrimmed bush on a woman) but aside from the fact of, I believe, advertising being wholly to blame for any woman considering herself or anyone else abnormal for not shaving could the shaving fetish hark back to everyones prepubescent periods and the deeply held memories of our first sexual encounters with very little in the way of pubic hair being present. Just a thought.

You are correct, G. The media and all the visual methods of mind control, as I like to call it, can play a huge part in how people view themselves.
I give a thumbs up to anyone who stays true to themselves. If you like being bald, have at it, if you like being furry, more love to you.
I agree with one fact, how did it become a FETISH to be hirstute? Natural bodies are a specialty now? Man, I think I need a drink. Kidding,
