Something old, something (eventually) new...

It has been over a month since I last posted any photos. I am currently away from home and working out of state, and the circumstances and conditions here do not lend themselves to making many pictures of myself...not these sorts of pictures, anyway! However, today I found myself alone in the communal showers for a few minutes, so I seized the opportunity I was presented to make a few snaps with my phone. I am currently scouting new locations and making note of new possibilities so that I don't have to go another month before I post more pictures!

In the mean time, I give you...the shower house.

I'm thrilled that you managed to find enough alone time to take these. They're fantastic! You really do look a bit too alone though. Perhaps I could join you and wash your back for you?

I hope you have the opportunity to take more again sometime soon. I don't think we can hold out for another month without more of you.

I had been looking at the .morning light coming through my back door for a while now, thinking that I should use it for some photography. Last week I finally did.

I converted these to black and white, because that had been my original vision, and then began playing around with the exposure. I found that I really liked the look of them underexposed by about two stops or so. It gives them sort of a film noir look, I think.

Anyway, enough chatter. Here are the first of several.

I've really enjoyed this little series of pictures. There were actually about three times as many as I posted, but in the others I either wasn't happy with the focus, or the composition, or they were simply too similar to another picture I liked better

I was really happy with how in some of these, particularly the last one, there is more suggestion than actual revelation, though if you look closely enough there is revelation to be had. I hope you have enjoyed looking at these as much as I enjoyed making them.

I had some time yesterday morning to do a little more creative work in the communal shower house, and these are some of the results. I'll be leaving this site in less than a week, so I'm getting in whatever creative photography time I can.

I have to say, there is something very exciting...very arousing...about doing public pictures like this, where anyone might walk in and catch me in the act.

After living in campground conditions for almost 12 weeks, I almost don't know how to handle sleeping in a hotel room. Fortunately, I still remember what to do with a private shower. Take pictures, of course!
