Someone, Anyone, Give Me Something to Think About

I also noticed that while here in Maryland, if you bump into to someone, it's "Move, asshole", there it is "I'm sorry, excuse me".

Take that for what you will.

Hmm ... that just makes me think of the difference between a concert where there's alcohol and a rave where everyone's on E.

Read a good bit of the Two deaf lesbians wanting to have a deaf child and now I am wondering what my gf would think of that.

She is so touchy about that sometimes I dont know if I should say anything. Will have to test the waters and see how she is doing tomorrow first.

She would defenitly disagree with this.
From article.

Duchesneau and McCullough view deafness not as a physical handicap—which it is—but as an “identity, not a medical affliction that needs to be fixed.”

And this.

Nor is there concern that if their son’s impaired hearing in one ear is fixed, he will grow up in a household where signing is preferred over speech. Even if he eventually can hear, he will live in an environment that is hostile to spoken language.

Gauvin has been deliberately handicapped by two lesbians who are more concerned about their own feelings and identity politics than with the fact that he will grow up in a strange, silent world devoid of a loving dad. His career choices will be severely limited and his ability to grow up as a healthy male will be stunted as well. Who will teach him what it means to be a male? Certainly not two lesbian “moms” who have rejected men as suitable life partners.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whoever wrote this article obviously does not have a clue about how deaf or hearing imapired, there is a big difference between the two, interact. Almost all deaf or hearing impaired people can read lips and therefore would not be hostile to spoken language.

My gf can't sign anything but the alphabet and a few phrases and does not need to learn how to sign.
