Some guy opened a door for me today.

Some snappy femnazi bitch ripped my head off in public for being a barbaric pig and holding the door for her a few years back....I would have much rather had a dollar.

Result would have been the same though....letting doors exp heavy glass ones slam shut right in every cuties face I can manage.

Damned if I do damned if I don't...might as well get some LULZ out of it.

I like it when men hold doors open for me. Or pull my chair out. But then, I'm just a big ol' romantic at heart.

It's all about manners and they cost nothing but are priceless in my opinion

I just try hard not to walk into them, be polite and thank them ;)

I would not have accepted it. We should be nice to each other more often.

Being nice to people get's you fucked over......and tbh I never met anyone that would give me more than an eye roll or the finger if there wasn't something in it for them.

i say thank you and smile. then i glance down at the floor and normally blush.

That is truly sad. My life experience is very different.

Why sad?

We obviously live in fairly different worlds, I have always lived in metropolitan areas and never in very well off areas of them. It's just the way shit is, being nice/polite or simply giving the slightest shit will get you cussed out at the least and your ass beat on the other end of the scale. Maybe you simply live in a different American sub culture and that philosophy works well for you, I'm not saying it's wrong as it actually sounds nice, just offering the counter view is all.

Family/friends? Of course I hold the door, always let others go first, keep my elbows off the table and even chew with my barbaric mouth shut.

The public? If I make with the door holding and I"m chauvinist pig, I help a lady in a car accident...the fucking bitch sues me. I tried... really have tried to be nice but the public can kiss my ass I'm not sticking my hand back in the viper pit again, tired of being bitten.

It was me. I urinated on you and then wrote...um fuck. Wrong thread...shit!

I usually smile and thank them, and if they are cute, flash some bewb.

And if they have some bitchy looking woman with them, I flash the bewbs just because I can.

Ummm....was he wearing a uniform? Why tip him? Why not a warm smile and sincere thank you?

I'm maybe off here and I don't mean to offend, but I think if I were a man, and a woman tipped me for being a gentleman, I'd feel insulted. Actually, scratch that....even as a woman, if I did something that was just second nature (as being polite should be) I would be insulted.

Correct answer. Bewbs over dollars.

You'd flash a man in public? Even if he was with his gf/wife?

Seems disrespectful to the woman in question. Especially if she wasn't doing anything to you, it was her husband, and you just judged she was bitchy based on her looks.

But hey, to each their own.

And exactly which door do you use the most? I think I will become a doorman there. ;)

Actually, around here, if you don't hold the door for whoever is behind you- man or woman- you are likely to get dirty looks and be thought of in an unkind manner. I've held a lot of doors open in my life and never been offered money for it. The best "thank you" I ever got was as a teen, a lady informed my mom that she had raised a very nice young gentleman. Boy was that nice lady midguided...

I agree. It happened to me once on a job. A guy payed me extra because he asked me to do move something to a different location. It was not required at all and I founf it really wound me up. I felt that he thought he could buy me........

Not a good day at the office.
