To be fair, since we don't have proportional representation there are no viable third parties in the first place. Its quite sad. We are told this is the land of freedom and democracy, but unless you agree with the narrow ideologies of the two "major" parties you are SOL in having any representation at all.

I don't know if someone wants to get rid of the Dept of Edu but it's one very good idea. The very concept of of a nationwide bureaucracy to oversee other statewide bureaucracies is a massive money eating joke. It's staffed by people who work only for themselves.

First understand this, teachers are not government workers, thankfully. They are employed by local boards and schools and are never under federal jurisdiction in any way and can be and are hired and fired by local boards but only with union permission (joke intended) and why should I have more care and concern for a teacher than any other member of the community. Many are incompetent as in all professions and it is no more a hgh calling profession than that of a bus driver.
