Some authorly input

When is that story being posted?
I’ve never done a sci-fi story. Perhaps I ought to.

  1. Made Cummer - Roy and Pris do the wild thing
  2. Silent Cumming - me and my ball-gag
  3. Invasion of the Body - no Snatchers needed
  4. 12 Monkeys - gang bang bestiality
  5. Hitach-E - the story of a cute vibrating robot
[to be continued]

And of course:

6. Planet of the gapes 😊

It does help, but I don’t want my work evaluated (by all means vote on it when published or ideally vote AND comment). Just wondered if my dilemma was a common one.

I read your original post again, and I think you're trying to say that your dilemma is how much sex to put into it? Yeah, we've all faced that issue as you asked in the second post (the reply to Zenith77). It's okay to "miss" an opportunity in other words. It may even be better, because that way what does get described has more of an impact perhaps. Or a second event on the same day, say, or the next day can be condensed into a couple of sentences unless something drastically different happens. The less is more approach, to use another trite expression. I think I mentioned another example; a future event (perhaps several days away) can be left to the reader's imagination because it's beyond the end of the story.

7. Sex_machina

8. The Vibrator - Arnie’s finest outing

9. Bra Whores

10. Symbian Green
11. Anal Trek Into Darkness
12. Alien Wenches vs Predator
13. RoboCop: A feel
14. Men in Black G-strings
15. Sperm Troopers

I've suddenly realised that porn producers put even less effort into their titles than I'd originally thought.

I lifted one directly from a 1959 Twilight Zone, the one where a convict on a distant planet is given a female robot for a companion. Of course, I got away with things that Rod Serling could only dream about. I still think the best part is that Alicia (she's an android, not a robot) is quite witty and has a distinct personality of her own.

Yeah. I think that’s what I’m going to do. Thanks.

Em, there is a Geek Pride event coming up...

The Fifth Elephant - adventures with an alien race who have penis proboscis...
Bum Runner
Silent Cumming
Enter Stella

Anyhoo, getting back on topic. I'm all for as much sex as possible, but if I feel it's repetitious and not adding anything, I'll cut it short and move on. Actually, that goes with any scene.

If man is still alive.
It seemed like that song was on the radio every fifteen minutes in 1969. Then Carole King's "I Feel the Earth Move" was on every fifteen minutes in 1971. But King lasted a lot longer than Zager and Evans did.

So I submitted the story today. I left the extra sex scenes as being referred to, but not documented in detail. Reading through from start to end, it has an awful lot of sex already and I think I would have become repetitive if I added another scene, without some other element (a different location, or third person, neither of which would have fit the story).

Thanks for the perspectives offered. Less is more, I guess.

I will post a link here when it’s published and you can tell me what you think.

I'm still relatively new at this. But I'm already seeing how it can become more difficult to keep sex scenes fresh and exciting to write.

Meanwhile, finding new and interesting ways to getting the characters in bed can be the funner challenge.

So I can see how it could become an easy jump into saying, story wise, "hey, I spent a lot of time getting these characters to hook up, now let the reader imagine the sex scene."

Of course, that's what generations of filmmakers had to do because of the Production Code/Hayes Office. Even today, they have some careful choices to make to keep it within a marketable "R" rating.
