The Palestinians need to rid themselves of their current leadership (Arafat) who has led them down a 35 year dead end road. Perhaps the removal of the Iraqi leadership is part of a broader peace plan between Israel and the Palestinians...?

I still find it interesting when you poll the Palestinian people, you consistently get 40% of the people that want a state next to Israel and 60% of the people that want a state INSTEAD of Israel.

I think the problem is, once a Palestine state is established there will be no taking it back. Even if they continue terrorism, suicide bombings, etc...they won't have their state taken back. I think that is the hold-up, people want to make sure they are doing the right thing.

Why don't the Arabs give them some land...?

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict does need to be solved. It is the primary cause for unrest in the arab world and it is damaging the U.S.' image worldwide.

Having said that, it is unacceptable to allow or expect the Israeli's to tolerate terrorism while we are going to war over it. I think a settlement needs to be imposed on the region, but with the clear understanding that if the terrorism continues, then the Palestinians will lose the right to that land.

In other words, it's put up or shut up time in the middle east, for both sides.
