Is China consider a socialism country?
Jen, it does work.
It puts everyone (outside of the leadership) on the same footing.
It is the great leveling equalizer. In North Korea everyone has the same exact access to bark.
In Cuba, even when you have no rice, you have your steamer...
According to you everything outside of your capitalistic utopia is Socialist/Communist; then blithely ignore how well socialist systems (according to your definition) work in Scandinavia and Germany etc, much better than in more capitalistic leaning countries. I know, I know they’re not Capitalistic enough!
How anyone can perform mental gymnastics on this level I just dunno.
Jen gets around it by being a dumb fuck, how are you doing it?
Woof!

I love what we have in Canada. No complaints here.

I wonder if that would be the case if the USA wasn't there to protect you?

Communism is not socialism. Socialsim is a stepping stone to communism, not a step that is inevitable. I have lived in socialist states and see a great deal of value to them and aspects I tend to envy (health insurance, lack of true poverty, etc.) but I am a true citizen of the USA, I am a capitalist down to the fiber of my being. The USA is not a true capitalist society any more but it is the closest that exists. In a socialist or communist state you are an equal of everyone else except those who rule. The position you hold is the same position you will hold when you die. There is no movement within your class. Many people are very happy with this because of the benefits a socialisyic society offers. I am happy for them and I do understand why they are happy with their society. In the USA you are born into or migrate into a class. But the only thing that prevents you from advancing up out of this class is YOU. Nothing says you will advance but nothing says you can't and that is what I love about capitilism. I was born into a poor family. My grandparents on both sides were illegals from Ireland and Scotland. But I am not the son of an immegrant or the grandson of an immegrant. I am a successful independent engineer. If I were British I would have been tested to determine if I could go on to higher learning. I can go on to higher learning in the USA if I have the money. I prefer my way.
