I use Myspace for my music and Facebook to stay in touch with real-life friends.
And then there's the alt.buddha.short.fat.guy newsgroup on Usenet. I've been hanging around there for years. I get along extremely well with the regulars there - they are as weird as I am, but no weirder. Both qualities are hard to come by.
As I'm now discovering on Lit, it has taken quite a while to get to know just a handful of people well in an online forum - I get easily confused by the sheer number of posters.
alt.buddha.short.fat.guy is still the only online forum where I have known people online for years and met quite af few of them in real life afterwards.
