Well, I'll be the last guy that will disparage you for what you think and believe.

I know that not all churches are like the ones my parents were members of. I also firmly believe one thing...

It's a big, scary, cold world out here. Whatever someone needs to square themselves with reality is their own business. I may not agree, but I accept your decision to choose for yourself. All I ask in return is the same courtesy.

Love this. Absolutely agree.

Well said

Without a doubt, one of our major problems as a society IMO is that we have lost the ability to have polite differences of opinion.

Lots of folks looking to speak into the echo chamber and only hear themselves repeated. If one surrounds themselves only with people who have the same thoughts, then one misses the opportunity to examine something from a different perspective and learn new things. It stunts our growth to live like that, and it's a shame that modern American culture is progressively more polarized.

*steps off soapbox*

You got it. I am all about talking about different beliefs and views. But not about forcing or convincing. Respect is much more important than stupid arguments because of disagreements abd points of views.

So my respect you have

Likewise. Pleased to meet you (Won't you Guess My Name?)

Sorry about the Stones reference... Couldn't pass it up.

I agree with everything wetsider wrote above.

I do agree that as a society we have lost the ability to have polite disagreements. I had this discussion with a coleague recently. I also believe we can appreciate something else about someone that we do have in common. I might hate some of the things ted Nugent says but stranglehold is a good song, just sayin. If I ever met him I'd talk to him about music, not politics. silly example, but you get it.

We've come a long way from the PM random guy on lit intent of this thread...

Chris, Gracie and others... I think we owe it to you. Thanks. This is a lot of fun, and a lot of neat people came out for it.

I'd say we come out at night, but it's not night here, so

I spent a long time in the military (essentially my 20s) and I saw a bunch of the world courtesy of the Navy (Uncle Sugar's Grey Canoe Club.) One thing that stuck with me is that no matter where I went, I found that we have more in common as humans than not. Food might be different, (Great adventure BTW)we might look a bit different, we might speak differently, but we all want the same basic things. We want to be loved and accepted, we want to be able to dream and have a chance to build them, and we want a better life for our children than we had.

So say Hi to your neighbor, hug your kids, hug your SO, and realize that we all just want to be told we're OK, and that it's going to get better. The dreams make us human, so reach out and and be human.

Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it stings and you don't know why. Sometimes you don't understand and you just want it all to end... Hey! Brother! Sister! I've been there. I'm there some days still.. Feeling is the best part of us, and I encourage you not to do it alone.

To return this to it's original intent. If you want to PM someone because you need someone to talk to, or you have something to say send me a message. Male, Female, doesn't matter... send up a flare... send me a message. I'll answer no matter your situation. I may not understand for certain , and I may not be agree, but rest assured that I will hear you and let you know that you are heard.

That's a big fat stream of consciousness, but the intent is there. Seriously, I'll hear you, so long as you speak.

Who keeps cutting onions in here?!?! 😭😭😭

For real, I cry over everything. You guysssssss!!

Quiet friday... I hope that means everyone is hard at work so they can get off work early and enjoy the weekend soon

I’m just gonna be straight up honest - I’m bad at emotional stuff.

But hey man, glad the thread came through for you! :)

I wish our medical system was better, it's a shame that anyone can't get medical care.

Yeah... I can technically get it, which is good enough for some people, I guess. You don't even want to know what I'm paying for a high deductible policy. Which, I suppose is better than the no policy I had before when insurance companies would just reject me.

Whee.

Now, I've gone and chased everyone away. Oops.

Hardly, I just spent a moment pretending to work lol

I understand, the high deductible sucks. It's not real healthcare if you still can't afford to get it when you need it.
