If you want to experience the game but have no friends like me, you can do one of the following:

Find a single player table top game - I recommend Gloomhaven

Play a videogame which is not even close to the real thing but it's good enough if you don't know anybody who plays D&D

-Baldur's Gate I & II
-Planescape: Torment

Disclaimer: I've never played D&D so I'm not an expert. So, my advice is probably shit. I'm fine with that. There are people who know way more than me and could offer way way way better advice.
