In case any is interested, the World Cup tournament soccer final is on in a little while.

If you've never seen a WC final, why not give it a try.

Brazil vs Germany.

(See LittleDevilWithAHalo thread)

I think I'll have to give it a miss. I've never liked football. And besides, my attention is due to be fully taken by a rather lovely young lady...

Hey look at that, being good at dancing the Samba does have it's pay offs.

Gooaaal for Brazil.

could someone tell me please how long a soccer field is?

could someone tell me how long a meter is......in american:D

ok, just kidding about that. i don't normally watch soccer but was watching this morning and was impressed when several times i watched the goalie kick the ball a full 3/4 of the length of the field in the air. also impressed with the amount of running those boys were doing. that game just might catch on.

According to the ABC commentators, this particular field is 114 yds by 75 yds -- 6 yds shorter than the "standard" 120 Yd length.

Yes WH but 20 yards of it isn't taken up by the endzones. Just a minor point.

thanks. (i really didn't know how long a meter was but bein' a guy i wasn't gonna admit it.)

Now if we could just start getting the various league games broadcast in the U.S., people here might not forget about this sport.

ESPN2 (26 National Telecasts)

Of course 14 of those 26 have already been played/broadcast, and there may be local coverage of an MLS team near you.
