What Did Thom Brennaman Say? Homophobic or Anti Gay Slur ...
https://celebpie.com/what-did-thom-brennaman-say...

Aug 20, 2020 · Thom Brennaman Homophobic Slur Live on Air Thom Brennaman is clearly heard saying the word “fag” on air. He is heard saying “fag capital” and I suspect he was referring to a city or a place. Another striking thing about this is that I sense no hesitation or awkwardness in his voice.

i'm not and i'm a fag. what else would you expect from someone like him and, besides that, i don't find 'fag' a big deal anymore. i prefer it to 'queer' and i often use fag to self identify. now, if he'd said something negative about cocksuckers, then i'd want to punch him.

His corporate masters were most certainly offended,

... so, OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!

errrr..... MIC!

I haven't paid attention to baseball since the millionaires cancelled
the World Series over Mo' Money! Sho' me da money!!!

Fuck them fags...

PS - It was a hot mic, meant to be a private comment.

By now, I'm sure he knows he cannot actually say that
where anyone but people who agree with him can hear it..,

and

... that brings up another point.
He was comfortable enough with the people
around him to actually say it when he thought the mic was off.
Maybe he's not the only one who should be "socially/politically cleansed."

Think about it. ;) ;)

Just a guess, but I assume this will wind up being a suspension and not an outright firing. The Brennaman name is pretty untouchable in Cincinnati.

As a foul mouthed person who is rarely offended, it's not a word I'd use. Unless I was sparking up a Benson & Hedges. But lots of folks balk at my use of cunt. :(

These days more people are offended by your smoking than you swearing .
If you really want to offend people try smoking a pipe in public .

I don't actually smoke but I have my great grandfather's pipe. I might give that a bash and see who I can piss off. I like pipe smell.

Slurs are expected from bigoted people who don't have a platform to broadcast from. Once you have risen to the level of a VSP, better is expected of you. Advertisers and businesses know that some of their customers are"fags" and people who don't appreciate those who express bigoted views. It's simply good business and good practice to hold people in positions of influence to a higher standard.

I don't know the person this thread is based on, but I'm guessing he presented himself as a decent, open minded human being when he was being vetted for his current position. If he misrepresented who he really is, then he should be called on the carpet for his behavior.

I could care less if another fraud got fired for being a closeted bigot/racist/misogynist, etc.

Don't start now is my advice ,while I still enjoy smoking it has become a very expensive hobby .

he's the long time announcer for cinti. reds games.

I just read his mea culpa and he seems genuinely contrite.

Sometimes you get the feeling that bigots are just phoning in their apology, but in this case I felt real remorse in his words and a determination to be better in the future.

This guy is definitely a second chance candidate.

Does it matter, this is suppose to be a "free speech country" is it not. Then anyone should be able to say what they think, correct!

No.

It truly amazes me so few understand what our Constitution guarantees.

Wrong.

You can SAY it and the Constitution guarantees your ability to do that.

What it doesn't guarantee is protection from the consequences.

Too many people think that "free speech" means "freedom from consequences". It doesn't.

Too many people also go looking for words and/or phrases that they can use to torment or punish others publicly.

Both of those are 'wrong think".
