So, what do you people do when you can't sleep?

Apparently you've started drinking again...

You certainly haven't been getting laid, so I guess by your estimation, I'm one up on you.

If it hurts you are definately not doing it right... and you need a massage. ON all the parts that hurt.
That can be difficult to arrange in the wee hours of the night, but I applaud the concept.

You know, there's probably a drink out there called wind. lol
Well, there's one called "3 sheets to the wind" anyway, with Jägermeister, Rumple Minze, and Cuervo, and I've had people ask me about a "Purple Wind" but I can't swear it's really a drink.

If thinking that way helps you sleep...run with it.

But it sounds negative and angry to me.

The problems with booze, the carpal tunnel, the insomnia...are all signals...

Goodluck in facing your demons.

What I like to do when I can't sleep is get up from bed, sit in a chair and read a little while. It takes my mind off of not being able to sleep and I guess relaxes my mind (which always seemed to be racing).

If I feel like I am going to have a hard time and its early enough, I will take a warm bath with lavender.

LoL..or I use lavender body lotion. The smell wafts up and when you inhale it soothes me as well.

Lavender sure gets around. Does she clean your back for you in the bath?

Normally a massage sounds very good, but not on these painful bits. :)

Lance, you're actually funny.

Devine Wind

2 doses of Vodka
1 dose of Lemon Juice
1 dose of Lime Juice
A dash of Blue Curacao
Serve in a cocktail glass
Prepare in Shaker
How to prepare:
I use 1oz. Vodka, about 1 1/2 oz. Lemon/Lime bar mix in a shaker with ice. Strain into a Martini glass and then float Blue Caracao on top. If you are an awake bartender, it's a Kamikaze with Blue Caracao floated on top...

usually i just sit at my desk flicking channels or i pop something into the PS2 and give it a whirl, which as a matter of fact i'm about to do now :D

For those of us not used to metric measurements, just what is a "dose" of vodka?

Deny it if you like...that's how you got here.

"Women are three times as likely as men are to develop carpal tunnel syndrome. The incidence in women peaks between the ages of 45 and 54, and the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome also increases with age in men.

Certain health conditions can increase your risk, including some thyroid problems, diabetes, obesity and rheumatoid arthritis. Women who are pregnant, taking oral contraceptives or going through menopause also are at increased risk, most likely due to hormonal changes. Fluid retention may be a cause of carpal tunnel syndrome during pregnancy. Fortunately, carpal tunnel syndrome related to pregnancy almost always improves after childbirth. People who smoke cigarettes may experience worse symptoms and slower recovery from carpal tunnel syndrome than nonsmokers do. "

Howdy LK.

I'm still partial to the warm bath with a friend theory.
I imagine that would either make sleep easier or utterly irrelevant.

Maybe a prescription for a dildo would help (relieve carpal tunnell syndrome AND help with sleep).

Debbie you made me laugh, damnit.

" I like the windows you can see through" - my dumb ass said this

That's one of the funniest things I've read in a while.

If you're a guy, it would certainly help, it would just delay the sleep by half an hour or so.

Read in bed. When you start yawning turn out the light.
When I toss and turn before going to sleep I wake up exhausted. When I read when I can't sleep, I wake up refreshed even if I only slept for three or four hours.

Too often I've done that and found the sun coming up and a long day of work ahead. I love a good book.

It was in my cocktail book. It's prolly meant to be a dash.
