Now they want us all to move to the Glasshouse Mountains to be part of it.
I've been informed that my role will be to go out and market our brand of coffee (because, as the SIL puts it, I am best if I work face-to-face with people and she can rely on me to keep paperwork in order!)
I'm not sure how I feel about moving.... plus I would have to come back here every so often to keep an eye on the farm - unless I lease out the whole place.
Big decisions to make over the next few months! Can't leave till the kidlet's treatments are all done though.
Anyway.... this is what's been occupying my mind for the last few weeks.

Can you grow Quinoa on the farm?

Does 'my man' like the mountains? What about the cars?!

Grow coffee on the farm with the cows.

I want to move to Bruny Island.

Not that that has anything to do with the price of coffee in Tasmania.

He's up there atm. He would keep working offshore though... much better money.
Moving would be a bit of a hassle - there's all the cars, plus all the models (enough to half fill a shipping container!)
I reckon it would take at least a month just to pack!

Bruny Island is lovely :)
Looked into buying an oyster farm there a couple of years ago. Decided against it pirely because the ferry isn't 'dry' and the cars would have got salt spray every time we went to the Tas mainland!

I ate some wondrous oysters there from a roadside oyster shack. Probably best I've ever had.

And, I met an abalone fisher woman. She had a truck bed full of them getting ready to fly to Japan.

Cool cool place.

Abalone is delish! Such a delicacy.

She was mighty stingy with them.

I was going to say I would have been too, but considering she had a truck bed full, she could have spared to dish you up one. Unless you know how to cook it, you would have better luck chewing on your shoe.

I cannot remember how much she said they were worth in Japan, but it was serious moolah.

Yes! I've not had any in close to 20 years, and even back then an abalone dinner with a nice sized patty was about $40, and considering there were probably several meals on the abs, that'd bring in some pennies.

The spot where one used to be able to scuba for them was then only open for free diving. I don't even know what's happened to the ab harvest now.

You're making me hungry. Abalone is delicious. The kiwis love their pauas and cream. Easy to make. Mince the abalone. Sauté onion in a little butter until clear. Add the abalone. Fry for 2 - 3 minutes. Add cream. Done.

Bit of salt and pepper - fucking beauty, mate.
