Because America keeps telling me and others that she is the Leader of the Free World.

So far I don't think she's doing a very good job at it.

So I'm criticising my leader...

Or aren't you allowed to do that in America?

Of course your allowed to do it.
I however would be very disappointed to learn that your one of those people that bitch and moan about the political system, and then don't vote. Now that would piss me off.

Only Americans are allowed to bitch about America, even if we royally screw up/screw over another country or 60. Only we understand

Heh.

I think he's on the wrong side of the water...

Uh, p_p_man bitches and moans and doesn't vote.

He's not allowed to vote in US elections.

I'm beginning to wonder if he's allowed to vote in any elections. They don't mail absentee ballots to mental institutions, do they?

Well, guess what? ppman will freely admit he's never voted in one presidential election - ever.

It should piss you off.

Don't worry if I could vote in America I would. But so far I've voted in the UK against following Bush's policies in all areas. Only because he hasn't done anything right.

But voting isn't the only issue here.

It's whether I and others want to follow Bush's America down a road which we gave up 60 years ago.

I thought you were never, EVER, not noway, no siree ever going to open one of my threads again?

Let alone reply to it...

:p

p_p_man, wasn't it you that started screaming about isolationism and how America had a responsibility, as the most influential, to help solve the Middle East crisis?

Pick one cause you can't have it both ways.

Try again. You can only speak for yourself. Unless you really do suffer from multiple personality disorder.

It's time to face it, p_p_man, you're trying to make a speech and dodge rotten tomatoes, eggs, and slime all at the same time. No one is listening. You've become the uncle everyone wishes would forget about family functions because they've heard his same stories every single time he's shown up for the past 50 years.

Find something NEW to talk about. Get a hobby. Talk about sex. Something, anything except your obsessions with Bush and American politics.

And if you can't do that, then why don't you leave us and run for political office. Then you can change things.

Edited to add..... this is miles' thread. He started it, not you.

I'm not.

Because America, much to my own personal joy, has decided, tentatively, to re-join the world stage.

Doesn't mean to say I have to agree with her all the time.

What road would that be?

Seems to me we went down a somewhat similar road when Reagan and Thatcher were in charge. It worked pretty well.

He hasn't done anything right, so right on. Oh and he basically just cheated to win the election anyway. I bloody hate Bush. Idiots like him should be stoned to death. With sharp rocks covered in lemon juice and salt.

Thatcher is almost universally hated in the UK for the way she almost completely single handed broke down social order and a strong infrastructure through policies that were thought up on the spur of the minute and enacted within months.

Privatisation, the Poll Tax, the War with Argentina, the disenfranchisation of millions of Londoners, the alienation of Europe all came from the twisted mind of a woman who was on the verge of a serious breakdown.

Unfortunately the Conservative Party didn't see how serious it was until it was too late. Then they kicked her out from the Leadership.

After which she fled to America on the first of many lucrative speaking tours. She had to go to you. No-one else would have her.

So how did things work pretty well then?
