And as e-readers and stuff. I'm thinking of getting one. 7" ones can be had for next to no money but are they so small and fiddly that you go nuts trying to use them?

I use an ipad. I have no issues with surfing the net.

Are you thinking of the droid os or a kindle fire?

I'll probably go with some generic droid. I'm not paying a bazillion quid for an Apple.

iPad here as well, not the mini. I think it's the perfect thing for surfing and email. Camera is not great but suits in a pinch. Image resolution is good. I just about gave up my laptop.

I understand, but there are good reasons why people rave about their Pads.

I use a Kindle Fire, but not for web surfing. I use it to watch movies while I'm commuting to NYC on the train.

For surfing I use my iPad2.

Don't get me wrong, I love Apples. My Macbook was one of the coolest things I've ever owned. But they're waaaaay over priced.

I use a Samsung GalaxyTab. Love it - so easy to use and has a nice big touch keypad.
It is lighter than an ipad, cheaper, and does everything I need.

Looking for your first Tablet hua? Web surfing you say?

If you get android it doesn't have google play on it walk away from it

Love my iPad for browsing while lounging in bed, reading books while on the elliptical, and my iPhone music transferred easily over.

Working overtime at Mcdonalds or cashing in your empty beer cans? I hope you are not planning on stealing one like you did with peoples accounts.

The noname ones that you can get for "for next to no money" as you put it sucks ass. Throw at least £100-150 at it, or you'll end up trashing it out of frustration and go back to the PC. See if you can get a good deal on a Galaxy Tab 2, An Acer Iconia or maybe the Kindle Fire.

Asus which makes the nexus 7 about to come out with there own that's going to be close to nexus 7 for 150 us dollars.

They all try to copy Apple. Like sports sedan makers all try to copy BMW. Why not get the one you really want? It's only a couple hundred dollar difference here.

I have the Asus Transformer T3000 or something like that. I love it. With the docking keyboard it gives me extra battery life and a usb port. The only thing I'd change would be to make it 4g capable. But other than that it's great.

Oh look, a fanboi.

That said, I do have an Ipad. But that ^^^ is just silly.
