and we spend a lot of time together. but htis morning of course I wake up and my eyes are extra itchy. Should I bother putting in the contacts today or leave them out to hopefully not get it?

STAY AWAY FROM THE PINK EYE GIRL!

Pink eye sucks! I would say nix the contacts until you know for sure if you're infected or not ... otherwise, wash your hands often and keep them away from your eyes.

skip the contacts, definitely. You might want to patter on over to the infimary (if you are a t school) or the docs, or the local drug store (dont know if there is any over the counter stuff.

Get it early before you end up waking up and being unable to open your eyes do to all the crust...ugh!

Leave the contacts out...

Don't scratch your eyes either. Very tempting, but don't do it.

It's very contagious, so it's very important to wash your hands a lot!

Hope everything turns out well. :rose:

I only wish I could stay away. I told her I would stay at her place this weekend to watch her cats while she's at home for a couple days. That means I'm sleeping in her bed and everything (we're washing the sheets first and all that).

and I would go get checked out and everything, but my eyes are just rather itchy this morning (I'm not scratching them) but they dont look the slightest bit different from normal.

could it also be from the cats? maybe a lot of dander floating about...

just remember if you wait it may be too late.

she went to see a doctor yesterday and got medicine for pink eye. I'm not allergic to cats.

I'm not planning to wait forever, just maybe till tomorrow. It all depends on how I am later in the day today. My eyes could just be itchy right now (they do that sometimes).

HI Celia Kitten...

Tell your friend to use a hot wet cloth on their eye. Pink eye can almost always be cured this way. Keep the cloth on as long as you can ..a few minutes. It will make it feel instantly better.

We exchanged emails a long time ago..but I got busy and lost touch with the forums. I hope you are well

J

If she touches her eye, then something else, and then you touch that something and then your eye, you can catch it. It's very contagious, that's why they keep kids out of school that have it. Just avoid touching your own yeyes for any reason, and wash your hands constantly - she should be too.

well, I havent put the contacts in. my eyes still itch and I'm going to see a doctor at 3 today. I've been washing my hands quite a bit, as has my friend. and I'm thinking that if I do have it, I did get it from her. And I will be sure to make her feel extra bad for it too.

well Rose, that is easier said than done. so I went to the doctor anyway. I do have pink eye, yippee. I get to wash my pillow cases and everything now and wear my glasses for over a week. I'm so thrilled

Willing and U...
Did you try the hot wet cloth on your eye?

I hope its better

J

yes really, what happened?

was it scurvy? lupus? halitosus?

just wanting to know...

I went to the doctor, found out I really do have pink eye, got medicine for it and all that. and after I put the medicine in, had a rash start to form on my eyeballs cuz I was allergic to it. It was not fun at all. Went back, got different stuff and it's almost all better now. After this weekend I can wear the contacts again and I'll be somewhat happy about that.

thanks for caring you two
