I've got shingles. And it's bloody excruciatingly painful.

It was only when I went back to the doctor the second time to say that my ear was so swollen I couldn't get the drops in and please #$%%% give me antibiotics. After she prescribed me antibiotics, I just happened to mention this mark on my cheek that came up about the same time. I said it could be a pimple [sometimes I get a blind one around the time of the month, and sometimes it can be sore and red for a day or two], but it felt funny, sort of tingly when I touched it. That was the nerve.

Anyone else got/had shingles?

What, with that person right there?

Well, I'd try ... but I think I might get hurt. ;)

Been there.
It's not very pleasant.

Little hugs. :)

Nope, I haven't had that displeasure although I have taken care of plenty of people who have had it. Hopefully this is a mild case. (It sounds like it.) I have had too many people who come into the hospital with it because of how painful it is.

Yes they can, as long as the partner(s) have had Chicken Pox.
Although from the paitents I have seen sex is the last thing on their minds.

I'm all for sex if it dulls the pain :D

I'm sure horsey would be gentle with Charly, but I can't promise the vice versa ;)

My aunt has had it and fortunately it's cleared very quickly; I hope the same for you, Wishful!

Yes, I've had it. Almost thirty years ago.

I broke out just where my pants rub against my stomach. Made sitting down an interesting experience for a while.

Only treatment was mild pain killers. Lasted about two weeks as I recall. They haven't come back, thank Christ.

Yes, she'd turn you into a sorry ass. :D

(apparently I had a better one hiding in me - let me erase that blemish I wrote earlier.)

The worst ones I have seen were the poor people who had an outbreak in the groin region. The lived on Morphine for a few days.

Interesting thing about Shingles. In some cases you can follow the nerves by sight. (I had one person I was taking care of who's shingles manifested in their back. They had red stripes with the "pimples" showing the nerves as they branched away from the spine.)
