I say this in an objective manner. As I stated before, I find both candidates unfit. But we have a new President, so I am inclined to be optimistic.

Well, looks like the venom sacks still have plenty of bites left for Trump. The Press is running stories on how hate groups are celebrating Trumps victory. Groups that represent and extreme minority of fringe idiots who are really not news worthy if the Press was indeed objective.

Here are some things I hear from Democrats I personally know.

"Trump is a lousy business man"
Lousy business men live in a van down by the river.

"The Wiki Leaks emails are fake"
This coming from the people who embraced the Private Manning leaks.

"Trump is a lousy man personally"
Well, OK I agree with that one.

"Trump will start WW3"
WW3 would be bad for business, and Trump is a businessman.

All this "The sky is falling" is so predictable and tiring and it will be The Press strategy for the next four years. And if Trump is a successful President, The Press will just pile on him even more.

One of my friends that works in a hospital said everyone got an email from the Chaplin that if they were upset about the election results, they could come and talk about it.

I'm glad you finally shed your skin and came out as the old white male that you truly are. :rose:

Not wanting to be a grammar nazi here but that is so appropriate. Charlie Chaplin counselling those who might be depressed by the election result. Probably more appropriate than a Chaplain.

Epic ass hurt abound.

"protesters" are out attacking white guys because Trump won and racism is bad.

I hope they lynch about 2 dozen of them....show us how progressive they are.

tee-hee

That giggle aside, I disagree with the OP. The usual suspects, normally so tumescent, are remarkably limp nowadays. Apparently they don't have the courage of their own convictions.

All is quiet, and this normally boisterous board is suddenly an echo chamber for a select few.

I wasn't even planning to keep talking about the election results, but it's all that's on anyone's mind, apparently. It shows. One side has run off to lick its wounds and can barely bring itself to cough up an occasional sneer in blurty, and the other is just sitting around going, "Hell yeah!"

Oh, well. Trump happens, but the GB will recover... probably the next time he sticks his foot in his mouth. Which is inevitable.

Shrugging in Shawshank,
Ellie

Some of us aren't obsessed with politics. It's interesting to a degree. The results this time around were extremely depressing. But life goes on. And the shit will hit the fan again.

Trump behaving like Trump and failing to deliver on his promises. An R Congress majority having no one to blame for not accomplishing anything other than rolling back some progress here and there, while they further distance themselves from Trump in hopes of re-election.

It's going to be an entertaining 4 years.

Looking forward to wearing my YOU VOTED FOR HIM t-shirt.

LOL what progress?

If there had been a bunch of progress HRC would have fucking destroyed Trump the way everyone thought she would.

Thanks for the spellcheck Roryalt#37.

Well, Dumpf could do a lot to improve his reputation and help everyone else stop calling his followers racists if he manned up and denounced the KKK, hate groups, bigotry and hate speech in general. But he's not doing that. He's never said a thing about the hate groups salivating at his rallies, the nooses. All he has to do is come out and show that he didn't really mean all those things he said.

But he won't. So he allows the "fringe idiots" to flourish and become associated with him.

We can only presume:

He's too stupid and stubborn to do the right thing or

He likes it.

The longer he goes staying silent, everyone who supported him will continue to be thought of as bigots and idiots who elected an idiot bigot.

Maybe he thinks the right thing is to just let everyone shoot their mouth off with all their hatred.

Shit, it put him in office. He's just going to smile and let the haters keep hatin'!

And it's driving mother fuckers insane. If he starts to kill everyone with kindness until SJW's are in the streets triggering the fuck out, he'll go down the greatest troll POTUS of all fucking time. :D

The longer he goes staying silent, everyone who supported him will continue to be thought of as bigots and idiots who elected an idiot bigot.

Only by the narrow minded, regressive and hateful.

objective manner?? it's anything but objective! just a few extreme minorities you say?? why are they 'idiots' for expressing their American right to voice their opinion? the one thing I do agree with you on is our very poor choice of candidates. as for grumpy, don't you think he brought a lot of this on himself what with his bullying tactics at his rallies? the way he spewed all this 'venom' at all these minorities? how he wanted to ban muslims, deport Mexicans and others that he deemed unfit or unworthy just because they didn't fit his idea of American people?? where do you think this country would be if our forefathers embraced these ideas? and you think everyone should just roll over and not respond to that kind of hate? I think he's reaping a bit of what he sowed! he will get his chance and hopefully do something good with it for America's sake! we shall see....

You mean hostile refugees and illegal aliens??

It's not his idea of American people, it's the law.

;)

2018 will tell. Seven Senate seats are up, none of them Republican (unlike this year). We will know how well, or how poorly The Donald has performed by this metric. Either they run the table, or they lose further ground...

;) ;)

When, and at what point did he endorse the KKK and what was his reaction to the endorsement of their 100+ readers KKK "National Newspaper?*"

* Which btw, was so far under the radar that it was eclipsed by the ISIS website in the common welt...

do you for one single minute honestly believe that ALL these people he offended are refugees and/or illegal?? I think not, but again the point is he brought a LOT of this upon himself! how can you unite a nation of diverse people by tearing a good portion of them down?

He clearly offended less people than have the Democrats and their masthead Hillary Clinton.

Any time any one offered any objection to the Progressive plan to fundamentally transform America the response was not reasoned debate but the lashing out and the cries of racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and whatever else was on the flung plate at the time...

while that may or not be true, the fact remains HE brought a LOT of this down on himself! I ask again, how do you unite a diverse nation of people when you constantly attack a good portion of them? and as I said, I do hope he somehow pulls it together for ALL Americans sakes.....

He did not.

He was very specific in what he said and it was the elite national media who decided to turn it into something else.

I would like to think he has a chance of pulling it together for all American's sake, but I don't think so. I think the same media that has been repulsed will now do everything it can to undermine him as it did Bush in Iraq. And I already see, from the tenor of all these old and departed, infrequent, and new posters to the GB, that the desire is there to make sure he is defeated. There seems to be no sense of the people have spoken, only that the wrong people have spoken and now the rest of us have to pay the price.

I respectfully disagree. time will tell but one fact remains. with one party in control of all 3 branches of office, it's time to deliver! no excuses, no exceptions!
