It's not Jean Chretien I can tell you that. No, he's much worse than a mere moron.

Canadian / American relations haven't been that great in the last five years as it is.. To let Francoise Ducros make the comments she has and worse yet let her get away with it.. Just yet another mark of shame that Jean and his Liberals have brought to this country.

Worse yet, the American media is having a field day with this issue even though both Parlament Hill and the White House have shrugged off the comment.

Can't say as I blame them either. It's bad enough we can't support our neighbors with decent millitary support, but to make comments stating that the leader of the free world is a moron ... How in the hell can Canada be counted on and trusted by not only the Americans but by the entire world?

Those comments she said were in a private conversation. They shouldn't have been reported.

lol

I'm a little lost, too.

What happened? What did I miss?

Hell, here in Dallas... people seem to still be talking about some guy who got hit by a cop three or four weeks ago while hanging in a bar.

World news? What's that? lol :D

(Maybe I should reach beyond radio news - whaddaya think?)

I don't think the U.S. is really in much of a position to complain right now. Don't take it too hard.

So she calls Bush a moron - how is that any different than what most Americans call him? From what I've seen, he is a moron.

Blame Canada - Performed by M.A.C (Mothers Against Canada)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Times have changed, our kids are getting worse..
They won't obey their parents, they just want to fart and curse!
Should we blame the Government? Or Blame Society?
Or should we blame the images on TV?

No, Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
With all their beady little eyes, their flapping head so full of lies!
Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
We need to form a full assault, It's Canada's Fault!

Don't blame me, for my son Stan..
He saw the darn cartoon, and now he's off to join the clan!
And my boy Eric once had my picture on his shelf..
But now when he sees me, he tells me to fuck myself!

Well? Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
It seems that everything's gone wrong since Canada came along..
Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
They're not even a real country anyway.

My son could've been a doctor or a lawyer, rich and true..
Instead he burned up like a piggy on a Barbecue.
Should we blame the matches? Should we blame the fire?
Or the Doctors who allowed him to expire?

Heck no, Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
With their hockey hullabaloo, and that bitch Anne Murray, too!
Blame Canada! Shame on Canada..
The smut we must stop.. the trash we must smash..
The laugher and fun.. must all be undone..
We must blame them.. and cause a fuss..
before somebody thinks of blaming us!

All ya need to know is there...

Maybe this will blow over in a day or two and to be honest since neither government is saying much about it, no one seems to really care.

But the fact is that Chretien once again will not and flat out refuses to do what would be the correct thing to do (in this case at the very least making a formal apology to Bush)

In the last two to three months he's managed to make himself a lame duck PM, piss off all of western Canada (especialy Alberta.. where the vote is now one out of three people favoring seperation) with Koyoto and now allow senior officals to say such insensitive comments without any punishment.

The day Canada's moron leaves office won't be soon enough.

i actually like canada in that they do speak out sometimes rather then butt kiss rather like what the french do ... i don't know all the details of this though

It's fine for any member of the public to call him a moron... hell Democrats I'm sure are free to call him a moron.

But personaly I would hope a senior offical representing my country would have more class and be a little more PC than to call someone in Bush's position "a moron"

She should leave the moron cracks to guys like Leno and Letterman.

Yes, because god forbid a public official speak the truth right?

There you go, I'd prefer a senior official speaking in an un-official capacity(Hence, representing nobody but themselves) would be smart enough to recognize that the man is a moron.

Differences abound in this snowy wonderland.

God forbid someone have an opinion. And speak it! America is no more perfect than us, and their leader no more intelectual giant than ours. Freedom of speach?

Please. Call him a moroon. If enough people do, maybe enough Americans will believe it that the idjot won't get reelected.

I don't think an off the cuff comment, made privately, should be reported or in any way be a reflection of official policy. I think
Bush's treatment of Schroeder was a far more serious diplomatic faux pas.

Do you remember the campaign? There was one time when Bush said to Cheney "there's that asshole from the New York Times" not realizing that the mike was on. It was the only time I felt like he was being honest and himself. I'd feel better if all politicians could be a little more honest and less political.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Bush supporter by any means. I do happen to agree that 9 times out of 10 he is a moron. But to me it just seems a little unprecedented that a senior official would make a comment like this and then not even an official apology be made. For her to have her opinion is fine.. and maybe it was a "private" discussion, but somehow it got out in public and no one is even denying it was said.

I don't know.. Apparently based on opinions here it's not a big deal and in fact the comments are welcome. I wouldn't think they would be and based on seeing advertisments on CNN promoting shows that will be talking about "can Canada be respected and/or trusted" makes me think just the opposite.

But then as I said my main problem with this issuse as I said before is the fact that again Jean won't listen to reason or do the right thing to get people even close to back on his side. I think that's what irks me more about this situation.
