I trust I missed both everything and nothing, all the usual drama, same as it ever was?

Well Dublin was cold, grey, and it was pissing rain most of the time. I got lost on the way in from the airport and couldn't find the place I was supposed to be staying until I'd wandered the streets for about and hour and a half (in the cold grey pissing rain). And I got a touch of the flu or a 24 hour bug or something at one point and spent some time at the guest house puking and generally being achy and feverish. But, overall, it was actually a really great trip! Got to see an old friend and drink Guinness and see some stuff and shop and that's really just about all I require, so, there you have it.

Why is Ireland the wealthiest country in the world?

Because the capital is always Dublin.......

I kill me.

I guess I'll take that as a no then.

sorry. they made me take him out of my purse at the airport, along with a pair of nail scissors.

Ya know what? I bought a big ass bottle of Baileys this mornin tax free at the aeroport with the intention of it being for the Christmas table - but I'm startin to think it might not make it... it's caaaaaaaalling me.

I soo understand that. I got two of them when I came back. Such a delectable beverage.

You get a chance to go to Jamesons Dist. or Temple Bar? Temple Bar was my favorite place..thats where I stayed actually:)

Didn't go to Jameson's - whiskey isn't really my thing. (Mr Keen went with some of his work mates on the first day though, as this was part business trip and part pleasure for him.)

We did however go to the former home of one of the Jameson sons, as it is now the Dublin Writer's museum. And the basement there is a swanky restaurant called Chapter One, where we had an absolutely fantastic meal in the old family whiskey vault (to the tune of about 150 euro, eep! but it was absolutely gorgeous).

Yeah spent a little time in Temple Bar, it's a neat little area. Had dinner there last night at a bistro called The Old Mill, very nice.

I enjoyed the writers museum as well. But..umm.my heart was stuck on James Joyce soooo that museum was the be all and end all:)

I could talk for hours about it, because I fell in love with Dublin, it's gorgious when the sun is shinning! But I'll leave it at that..glad to hear you enjoyed yourself.

Did you bring me back a sexy redhead with brogue for my stocking?

actually you know RR, I just remembered something kinda funny - the 'old friend' I saw while I was there, well he is not really an ex boyfriend, but I guess you could say sort of a former fuck buddy? One I was messing around with at the time I started dating the man who is now Mr Keen. And he's a sexy redhead with a brogue. So I was a little concerned about how they might, um, get on, you know? Because they did both know eachother back then as well, but not much, sort of 'in passing'... anyway, I just wasn't sure. I mean, you know how weird and silly men can be about these sorts of things. Well, women too, I guess, although I don't think I'd be bothered if the shoe was on the other foot. So anyway, I really needn't have worried, the two of them got on like a house on fire and were talking so much I could barely get a word in. At one point while we were out at lunch they were gabbing away (about the prospects for Turkey's inclusion in the EU or some other riveting topic) and the thought occurred to me, sitting there looking at the two of them, "I have seen both these men naked!" and I felt rather triumphant about the whole thing and had to restrain myself from shouting it out there in the cafe. Silly I know, but it pleased me.:D

Wow. Just fucking wow. I don't think last time I was there you'd have found a restaurant where you could say "fantastic meal" or anyplace that would qualify as a "bistro." More like "pies, peas and chips" at 10 bob. Celtic fucking Tiger indeed.

Glad you had a good time, in spite of the whether and flu.

Hmmm actually does not sound like a bad meal.

Needs potato and gravy to go with it though :p
jaysis, qd, yer must be irish yerself. it's the only place i know where they'd give you chips (fries) with the meal, and ask you if you'd like mashed on the side.

peachy: i just noticed your title line. aren't you the cute one.;)
