So I think I should read some Lit. Stories...

But I'm not sure what exactly to look for. I'm requesting suggestions.

Before replying, remember: I want good stories, well-written, and not just jerk-off material (not that there's anything wrong with those). I also don't want anyone to ask me to read their work, or their friend's work, but the work of someone else on Lit. that they know is good and think might be enjoyable to read.

Of course, if you want to post links to your best works, and there aren't other suggestions, I might be more than willing to peruse it.

Need a clue what you like to read (i.e. happy, sad, romance, nc, etc...). The one I always recommend is Endless by DK (in Romance). Sad, beautiful, amazing piece of work. I also like Aurora's Bard's Tales: Henry V (Chain Stories). MY Erotica wrote a great first time story called Nothing Between Us. It's a juggernaut, staying on top of the list for months and getting more votes than is humanly possible. I'm also partial to her story North Shore in EC. If you like a slow, personal drama, check out Seperate Lives by Longhorn07 (two chapters are in LW, one is in Romance). That's the one that made me decide to write in the first place.

I've recently picked up reading more of Lit stories (one a day if I can), particularly those authors who participate in the AH.

The other day I read FallingToFly's Sci-Fi & Fantasy piece, Playlists: Dreams in Digital that I recommend. It's a very well written, intelligent erotic story in my opinion.

I really enjoy the work of the three people in my sigline: Captain Midnight, Deathlynx, and Achtung Night. Ken Nitsua writes wonderful, realistic Gay Male. Tyler_H writes the most AMAZING Erotic Horror. Wildwildbest writes lovely stuff, her Interacial "Wild Wild Mess" was a trip. Aurora Black, Daniellekitten, and Selena Kittyn are all top of their game. Rgraham666 did a stunning job with "Abyss," and I adored "Driftwood" by Liar.

Other authors well worth reading:

Recidiva, Colleen Thomas (naturellement), Ohio, Shameless Flirt, Darkniciad, Severusmax and, if you don't mind pseudosmut (I haven't done much full on sex lately) you can feel free to read mine.

As a lot of the others I read here have been mentioned, I'll recommend one who hasn't been: Stella_Omega

Her stories have unique flavor I rarely see in other stories and really powerful characterization.

For Gay erotic fiction--a category which has amazingly strong storytelling--I'd recommend Ken Nitsua ("Justin's Jock" is one of my faves), Carson, Artisticbiguy, and Tom Collins--who, along with Jushorny has a wonderful new story going that, ahem, they've not finished! ("When Irish Eyes are Smiling"). Great reads, all of them.

I would suggest 'Amy's Smile', by jfinn, except it's not finished! 8 chapters posted between December '02 and November '03, and nothing since. Frustrating!

I enjoyed MaxSebastian's 'Playmate' stories. Actually, I've enjoyed everything of his I've read. 'Fearful Nudity' is a fun read.

Another recommend I have is Angel Dark, a NonHuman story by ladyofthemasque. This is on the darker side of erotica, angels, blood-letting and such. An excellent story that ladyofthemasque had mentioned it was part of a bigger project that she planned to have published. I don't know if she ever did write the story from Angel Dark, but if she did, I'd pay to read it.

I'll second the recommendations on Stella Omega and BlackShanglan, too. In fact, you might just cruise through the Story Review thread and pick things there. There are many worthwhile authors and certainly a few of them will write to your tastes.
