And of course the first time the oldest gets on it he crashes it and it lands on his ankle. That was 2 weeks ago, the bruise kept getting worse so I took him for x-rays. Turns out he just scraped the bone. I knew I girl who did that a lot but that's another story.

The quads are those mini Gio's. They are small enough for a 5 yr old to sit and steer comfortably, and they come with a 110cc engine. It's a Honda knock off I guess. Fast as hell. Good thing they come with governors.

Every parent remembers their child's first motor vehicle accident...

You should buy whole-life insurance policies for all of them, with a disability benefit.

Why don't you call your mother instead of posting a thread?

My kids use our 700s but only on our land. It is scary to let them operate machinery but they've taken the safety courses and I just have to cross my fingers.

Whole family's gotta be looking forward to the ride up Stoned Mountain...

Quads are okay.

I wanted to get them dirtbikes. I comprimised with quads so the wife feels she has a say in, well...anything.

We all hotbox it before we ride.

Why can't the kids just walk.

Blows me away seeing the neighbor kids out for a walk with the parents...parents walking and the kids riding their electric cars...waste of fucking money and no value whatsoever except spoiling the kids.

Who said anything about walking down the street?

They aren't allowed on streets.

Don't be hatin', chilly.

I also adjusted the throttle so they go about 8mph.

Now that both our boys are grown and gone from home, Mrs Dirt and I are looking at atv's. We held off because she said the younger boy was way too much like his dad and would probably kill himself on one.

Sqibbs- you make them wear a helmet, set the governor down to a reasonably safe speed, and I'm betting you keep an eye them when riding. You done good. But just waittil one of them finds that "slow me down" screw and cranks it the other way......

When my youngest was about 8, she had a little 80. My son thought it would be funny to ride it in our pasture....that is until he ran into the barbed wire fence. Thank goodness the injuries didn't require stitches.

When I first learned to ride, we were at the dunes. I was watching my nephew and son, both who are good riders. I thought, "sure, I can do this," and proceeded to ride. I was doing great until I hit a bowl in 3rd gear....I went flying. Blood was pouring out of my face and I got two black eyes and bruises all down the front of my body. I was lucky my son saw me go over, so they knew where I was. Turned out the blood was just a small little cut on my face. The ER trip was fun, explaining over and over what happened.

Funniest thing was, later that night we went out to dinner. The local police force was serving all the patrons. Come to find out, it was to raise money for battered women...I wonder what they were thinking of me and my black eyes?

OK, fun little toys but anything is dangerous, especially with a motor..keep an eye on em.

When they are old enough you can bring em up here and ride some real wilderness trails
