Powders can be difficult to use, and might even stain your clothing...if you are wearing any, that is.

I know peppers are not like ginger, but I do know you don't want to touch your eyes or lips after cutting a pepper up. I do know that the juices of a pepper would cause the same heat as ginger, but maybe not be as controlled as ginger by cooling after 15-20 minutes.

There are several spices that cause heat...cumin, curry, turmeric just to name a few. But, these usually retail in a powder. Ginger can be a powder, but it also can be found in the root form, perfect for figging.

I'd be curious to know if any of these other spices could be somehow used to gain the same effect as ginger. Those people with higher thresholds of heat might benefit from knowing this. We could even start a new form of play that centers around hot spices. Figging could be just the beginning.

I didn't find the cheddar because someone else ATE it! So what the hell I had cream cheese instead.
