That's what Sir Billy banks on. It makes it easier to squash competitors.

Yup, what version quicktime are you running?

Ishmael

Quicktime 6.5.1

Brought the video up under IE, and it had sound.

Mozilla 1.7, no sound.

Opera 7.53, no video or sound

Opera doesn't suprise me at all. The invocation of the poster movie is using ActiveX controls.

Mozilla does surprise me though in that both Netscape and FireFox work and they're both Mozilla based (and those represent over 90% market as a side note, there's a couple of folks coming into the site with Lynx <shrug>). I guess I'll have to download that and check it out.

I'm using a Darwin RTSP server and I haven't tried it with WindowsMediaPlayer yet and have no intention of supporting Real Networks crap.

I still don't understand why the QT plugin isn't ticking with Opera, or Mozilla for that matter. Hmmmmmmm.

God, I don't want to have to write Java script. :avery:

it must be something with my home machine. I pulled down Firefox and it behaved the same way mozilla did.

Well, I just did some other checking. On Safari I get the audio but a squished up video.

OK, it looks like I'm going to have to suck it up and write a bunch of conditional code to accomodate the different browsers. <sigh>

I am curious who is coming to the site with Lynx. Last I knew that was a pure text web surfing program. One step up from gopher.
