coupled with the fact that I'm not really having one this year has got me thinking about this past year, and all of the reasons I have to truly give thanks for.
I am thankful that I still have my mom. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in April, and then thyroid cancer in May, I really had to stop and wonder if this was "it" and how much longer she might be here. Well, she has had four surgeries and finished her chemo and radiation last week, and has had a 'no new evidence of disease' diagnosis. So first and foremost I am grateful for that.
I am also very grateful for the wonderful, loving, generous couple who have opened their hearts and home to my nephew and taken him in as their foster child. There are not many people in this world who will take on someone else's special needs child and somehow our family was lucky enough to find these two.
And of course there is Mr Keen, who even though I may whinge about him from time to time, is the most wonderful thing to have ever happened to me. At his very core he is a hardworking, honest, sensitive, intelligent, loving human being and gawd bless 'im, he puts up with ME.
There are countless other things I am grateful for but those are the big three. Oh wait - thanks to all of you here at lit, even you jerky jerk ass fuckin jerks, you've all made my free time a little more interesting than watching TV, at least
