When I first started this thread, I had a couple of cases of "fake corporate catastrophes" in mind, but I'll be damned I've by now brain-farted on them!

They are what inspired me to make this thread! Does anyone have any other knowledge of companies that have pulled off a such a stunt?

Since it is not my job to judge people for their sins I don't tend to damn people to hell. Though I do agree and have stated in other threads about this subject that the emotional casulities and loss of life are horrid. Still as a business whole sole purpose is to make it's investors money, it was a fucking mad scientist planthat worked. Not weather that is ethical is not what I waa talking about in my earlier post. Many business do unethical thungs to turn a buck. Not all of them are so publuc about it.
And after the leak anyone who signs up and is therefore exposed is an idiot. They obviously are not a safe place. Duh!

I wasn't damning the people who got caught up in the net....I was damning the entity/person who *did* judge people OR the corporate moron who decided this would be good for business.

Wait....there is no proof, whatsoever, that this entity was behind the hack. Just want to make that clear.

I was just suggesting a "what if" type of situation.

Although I do see the humour in all those fake accounts being revealed 'post-mortem' and, like many users, I'm not for cheating,
I also disagree with the hacking of Personal information and the public shaming.
No one else's business who's doing what with his/her life. And the worst of it: the public reveal also led to some tragic outcomes.

Basically, they created a cyber titty bar, a place where men can go to spend money and enjoy the fantasy that attractive women want their company, with about the same chance of going home with one of them.

I'm curious...about the spending money...was the money just for the membership to the site? or were the "bot-girls" somehow also receiving money?

What I have learned from examining the site’s the source code is that Ashley Madison’s army of fembots appears to have been a sophisticated, deliberate, and lucrative fraud. The code tells the story of a company trying to weave the illusion that women on the site were plentiful and eager. Whatever the total number of real, active female Ashley Madison users is, the company was clearly on a desperate quest to design legions of fake women to interact with the men on the site.

I had torrid sexual incounters with 5 of those fembots. And told my wife and got a divorce. But don't tease yourself for a second... there were and probably are tons of horny women on AM but for sure tons more guys. One of the ladies i met told me this.... there are alot of good looking hunks on there that cannot put together a sentence if their sexlife depended on it, and then she said their were alot of very nice smarter ,less physically attractive guys that could carry on a conversation but that she wasn't particularly interested in. Go figure. Lol

It makes perfect since. If your just looking to get laid you will pick the hottest piece of ass you can talk into doing the deed with you as a guy. Correct. Well on a site like AM the ladies have way more control over who they accept as lovers. Basically the whole cattle farm concept that men use to pic woman for centuries just got flipped. True, but from what each of the men said, the women fell in love with them. One said the woman was devastated that he wouldn't leave his wife even though he told her upfront he would never leave her.

That's crazy. I don't really have much to say on that. I mean if you go into something knowing the rules why expect them to change. Still I think it is nuts that people are blaming the site when they were the ones cheating. Now I understand some may have signed up to look about and never ended up doing anything but a lot seem to have been very active.
