The beautiful snow covering the ground, hanging from the branches of the trees.

Making it impossible for school busses to get in and out so the rugrats are let off for the day.

When I was a child we had to have no less than 5 inches of snow to get a snow day. They'd slap those chains on and trundle around the mountains on one lane roads, to pick us all up.

Now it seems if they get a light dusting, they call it off.

Bet I can top that...my son hasn't had school for the last THREE days. Two of them were because the "threat" of bad weather existed. Gimme a break. The major snowstorm heading our way must have run out of speed at some point. We ended up with possibly an inch. And here I sit with all this bread and milk. Wanna come over for lunch?

I'd love to doll.

I didn't get out and get groceries and lord knows I needed to.

All we have is bread, ketchup, mustard, mayo, luncheon meat, some chips, pop - that's a necessity :D - 4 1/2 gallons of icecream. I'm hankerin for some real food.

But while I fuss at how they call off school when they really shouldn't, I am not about to drive my tushie off of this mountain! lol

lmao kid behave today! ;-P

I miss the snow days from childhood! Being in Northern Ontario almost always guaranteed about 8-10 days off due to weather. And as a rual kid, that meant the snow machines came out and the house that didn't have parents became our meeting place.

~sighs~

Yes...your tushie is far too precious to be driven off a mountain...looks like that four fer a dollar ice cream could well save your stranded life and prevent you two from turning to canibalism...:D

Just move here.

I know people. I can make it happen. ;-)

Well, with my current job description, I don't get liberal leave for weather conditions. I"m one of those essential employees so, no matter what, I have to be here.

Maybe one day when I finally become a teacher it'll happen....

Another thing I've noticed is that it doesn't snow as much as it use to when I was a kid.

We use to get 13+ inches of snow several times during the winter, now we're lucky if we get 7. :(

I want to build a snowman, I want to make snowangels.

That's exactly right, and you'll also get off all those summer vacations to boot! :)

Does it get slower there at work when the weather is bad? Or is it worse?

lol I knew I should never have told you about the ice cream kid.
:p

If we didn't make him anatomically correct it just wouldn't be right. :D

*rooting for a carrot and 2 onions*

WAIT...I found a cucumber!

It's hard to even picture having a "snow day" when I look out my window this morning. The weather has been wonderful here the past few days... I think it got close to 80 yesterday. On days like these, I love living in this part of California. Sometimes, though, I do wish we actually had FOUR seasons.

We absolutely don't have the winters that we used to, thats for sure. Guess it's the whole global warming thang..depletion of the ozone and that stuff that I'm not familiar with at all.

However it does suck royally. I miss those days. *sigh
