The rejection of the PA was fast. Despite the daily salt water soaks and no play the damn thing never stopped crusting the jewelery. I even went in several months after the initial installation and had the jewelery up-sized thinking that might stop the migration out - as a small wire goes through cheese a larger wire will not. But, alas the jewelery continued moving closer and closer to the surface. Then the itching started and I know it was all over for the PA.

The one I just removed from my scrotum stared migrating about a year after I got it. I changed the jewelery and everything settled down just fine - for years. About 4 months ago I felt an occasional itch at that same piercing. The companion piercing was just fine, no problem - still fine after all these years. Night before last I gave the itching place a very careful look-see and decided that indeed the depth of the bar into my skin was diminishing - that the jewelery was being pushed out. Not wanting asymmetry, I removed them both.

I am not clear about the "why" part - my body just appears to have its own agenda in yet another area...
