Well, technically, Smurfette didn't come around until there were a whole bunch of men Smurfs already. It's my theory that Gargamel uses the Smurfs in very unnatural ways, if you know what I'm sayin'. It's also my theory that Smurfette is just a boy Smurf in drag.

Actually, there were two female Smurfs by the time that the TV series ended. I don't recall her name offf-hand, but she and a young male character were added in the last season or two. I'm not sure even smurfette can be considered an adult although she did do a lot of "mothering" by the end of the series.

Who would be good as the voices for the various charcters?

Her name was Sassette. and then Smurfette. Though if you were to write a smurf story for lit, sex with her wouldn't be allowed b/c she was a minor.
