by the way, marijuana is classified by the FDA as a Class I drug, which means it has no approved medical use and is only legally available for medical use during clinical trials approved by the FDA (which means the only way you're going to get it as a treatment is if you're enrolled in an ongoing clinical trial)

individual states have no power to change this status...they can make a drug more controlled in their state, but can't make it less controlled

i don't know about that. from all i'veseen and heard, most patients on chemo will tell you the antiemetic effects of marajuana are one of the few things that make the process bearable. likewise most drs. and nutritionists will now admit that a good diet is essential and that without it thechemo can do almost as much harm as good.

sorry, but clinical trials have shown that the new antiemetics (such as zofran) are superior in controlling nausea...i've heard the anecdotal evidence too, but the FDA accepts controlled trials over anecdotes every time

and megace has been proven to significantly increase appetite

understand, i DO believe in legalizing marijuana, but i don't think arguing with the FDA over its medical use is the way to approach the problem

god work doc. i learn something new every day.

Don't legalize it. Regulated ganja would suck like a Gaylord. I'm a heavy smoker, not as much as I used to be when I was a teenager, when half of my coworkers smoked like fiends. I also plan on growing it, mon, good times...good times.

This is a tricky question. I view pot as a drug. It is a mind-altering substance. It may be less dangerous than other mind-altering substances out there, but it is still used to change people's state of mind. I would only ever use alcohol to change my state of mind, but even then I am not a fan of getting drunk. In all, maybe I am not the best person to be commenting on this board...

I don't know if I think pot should be legalized or not. Since it is a drug, I feel like it shouldn't be. Just because it will greatly reduce illegal trade and whatnot means little to me. Then again, it isn't as dangerously mind-altering drugs out there, and that suggests that maybe it would be ok to make legal. Any way about it, this is a hard issue for me to analyze -- mostly because I don't smoke pot, I don't have any friends who smoke it, and I am not at all interested in it.

Hm... I think I'll leave now, lol.

so...if something is mind altering, like say, education, it should be banned?

If pot was legal then the government could make money the states could make money.

Then they could sell it through a drugest.

They could go to these small farms that are goin broke and say you work for us and pay them nice pay and that would save the government money.
