Okay, here's a new one. Anyone is welcome as long as they don't play with other peoples characters. That is so annoying. I understand a little bit, but please don't make them do or say things without being very sure the player isn't going to mind. If for some reason you cannot post for awhile, say something, don't just disappear. You can always come down with the flu or something to pull you out of action. If you are new to playing just ask questions. We love virgin players, don't we ladies?
Another request, please use OOC for when you want to say something out of character... a queastion or a notice that you need to leave for a bit. Then either your character name or IC to show you are now back in character. It makes it simpler. Any questions or ideas please share them. We want this to be fun. If you feel hesitant or want to ask a question, or whatever, my email is right there, use it. I live at my desk right now so I will respond. Please be polite though, my bird reads all my email, the nosey thing.
The scene is simple. A midwestern town. Population about 4,000. You create your own characters, and please make them
real. This should be fun. A chance to explore things and try things without getting hurt. Even drifters are welcome.
The friend here and her husband are already taken. But there is plenty of room for others, so hop on it. Don't be shy or timid. Please, we don't bite, well.... maybe.
Anna Serdato:
I couldn't believe I had done this. Moved halfway across the country on my own. But it was time to start over. My husband and I had split. A marriage of 16 years was over. What I had thought of as his middle age crisis had ended the charade. He was off, happy I hope, with his secretary. It felt like I was starring in a bad t.v. movie. Luckily there weren't kids and it was through. Over.
Now here I was driving across country to start a new life in a small town. A new job, a new place, and no one that knew me. Except my old college buddy. It was to her that I turned when things fell apart.
We had kept in touch all these years, though hadn't seen each other since graduation. She was happily married out west to her dream man. I sighed and turned into the hotel parking lot. I had been on the road for 12 hours and it was time to rest. I had told them I would be there tomorrow, but with no idea of what time. I would call them and they would meet me.She was a marvel. She had even offered to come out east and help me, but I had to learn to stand on my own. Her husband, Thor, had his own business where she helped out from time to time. But they needed someone to come in and update all their computers and records. That was what I would be doing. It would keep me fed until I could find something permanent. I pulled out my overnight bag and got my room. Tired, sweaty and hungry. I ordered out for room service and then placed the call to them. I had promised to call every night, so they knew I was okay. I sank into the chair next to the phone as I dialed. As it rang I thought about all they had done for me. They had both been a marvel to me, a rock I had needed when my world had fallen apart. Many of the friends my husband and I had shared had fallen by the wayside during the divorce, unable or unwilling to help. It felt good to know I had someone there who cared. But I made a mental note not to become too dependant on them, not to take advantage of it.
Ring... ring.....
