The sound of someone else’s voice made Riza jump. Her hand moved to her upper chest and with wide eyes, she looked over to the man standing down the hall. She was almost afraid that it was one of the teachers, considering she really shouldn't be out at this time of night. The thought of running crossed her mind, though if it was a figure of authority in the school, which would just make them more suspicious.
Her light blue eyes glinted for a moment as the moonlight hit her irises. She stayed where she was for the moment. Her eyes adjusted to the light a bit, and finally, placed the face with a name. It was a man she had been talking to earlier…Peter she thought his name was.
Riza, though, said nothing. The silence had been broken, though she still found herself unable to speak. Her rather wide eyes blinked slowly, looking down the dark hall to him, though slowly, she moved back to the window. “Hi.” Was all she managed to get out, though still, her voice was quiet, almost like a whisper.
She shook her head after another short lived moment, smiling up to him. “I’m sorry, I was just admiring the view…I guess I was out longer then I had expected.” She knew she didn’t have to make any excuses, though still, she figured that some explanation was in order, lest from where she was standing, did not see the figure clearly, and it did end up being someone else entirely.
“You were in my orientation class this morning weren’t you…?” She called once more, her head tilting off to the side lightly in curiosity. She figured that small talk was best right now. It lessened the rather awkward air that clung to this school, and now that there were only two of them, and Riza being who she was, she figured conversation would come far and few between, an aspect not many others appreciated about her.
