Sometimes in the morning - my 9 to 10am EST and nearly everyday - my 4 to 5pm EST......

I experience a big fat slow down.

Yesterday I couldn't even get into Literotica. And most often, once I do - I can't get to the board.

Wonderin' - you all have the same deal - or might it just be us Northern Eastern corribor folks??????

Let me know - Laurel too. Thanks.

Yeppers, same time frames here in VA. Seems to coincide with the times that I would expect the west coast to be heading in here "enmass" as it were.

Some days are worse than others of course, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to that aspect of it.

Catch all of that Laurel ?

Count me in 1600 AST to 1700 AST as a rule. Particularly so the last weeek or 10 days.

Just a lucky guess....

could it be that during those times Laurel and Manu are working on installing the new scripts?? Or just doing other updating work on the Lit server?

I noticed a few slow times too, but since I am another time zone I never made anything out of them.

Never noticed a problem, except for when the whole thing is down, then I get notified by 20-30 instant messages! lol

Sorry Sparky, I'm on the east coast and the slow down thing is more like a few times a week, not everyday. Maybe it has something to do with ISPs?

(damn, sorry again Sparky, I forgot, ISP - internet service provider)

I get occasional slowdowns, but the sad fact is that my computer is so slow that I rarely notice the network slowdowns.

Nah... its the Lit server.. where the BBoard is being held... thats having the log down.... nothing wrong with anyones connections...

*nodding*

I had that problem this afternoon. I finally just chucked it in and came back tonight. Now the bb is hopping! I'm glad it's not the dinosaur I use!

We're working on tweaking the servers to make them more efficient. We're working on lots of stuff. Patience, kids. The overnight slownesses are sometimes caused by people using offline browsers to "rip" the site to their hard drive so they can read us later. When those hit the BB and try to view every thread updated within the last 24 hours nearly simultaneously, they can take down our servers. In fact, they have done so at least twice. So if you use these, could you please configure them to NOT rip the BB? Thanks... :)

Who rip-ped da bay-bay?
Aye gonna whip sahm meeeen whoop on dah ass.

My personal Philo on this......

The Lit Board is like a "cocktail party" to me......

I arrive when I can - I stay as long as it's convenient - I leave when I have to.

I can't possibly read everyone's thread - even though I'd like to - so I really don't try to.

I read what I read - when I can.

As far as catching up - priorities - things of interest the day prior - or those personalities I seek that interest me the most.

I can't imagine, "wanting to thoroughly check out every thread, every reply." How can anyone have that much time.

Those of you who might be doing what Laurel knows you're doing - please - try and adopt my philosophy regarding the Lit board and how it works. Your voracious selfish addiction is ruining other's addiction - don't be so greedy.

Please.

I've always blamed my cheesy AOL/telephone connection when I can't get on Lit. I've had trouble getting on other sites, but when you visit a site three times a week and you have a problem every other month, you tend to dismiss it.

It seems like I have more problems with Lit, but that could be due to the fact that visit the site 139 times a day.
