Slightly Strange Question...

Hey there, I've decided to finally stick with a story. The particular piece I've decided on includes (but is not limited to):

A Naughty Priest
A Dirty Cop
A Slum Lord

The problem lies in how to kill them. I've gone through a few of the traditional deaths... poison, stabbing, shooting, smothering... but I figure I'll be spending enough time developing these guys... they deserve at least an interesting death.

Any suggestions are welcomed, and I look forward to hearing your ideas.

**sorry about the ridiculous amount of ellipses in this post**

Perhaps they should meet symbolic sorts of deaths?

The Slum lord could die in one of his decrepit buildings, fall through the floor, pipes land on his head, electrocuted by faulty wiring?

The Dirty cop? Endless ways - maybe he could be accidentally killed in a sting operation gone wrong. Something like that.

And of course the Naughty Priest should be raped and sodomized by dozens of 13-year-old boys.

Then again, that story couldn't be posted on Lit.

;)

All of those are great ideas. However, you seem to have a gift for reminding me of things I should have included in the original post.

All of the victims are going to be killed by the same woman. Just haven't figure out how she's going to do the deed yet.

Sweet!

Then again, I'm drinking.

Rum. And a lot of it.

Let me give this some thought.

(Dang. I kind of liked the school boys on the priest.)

For the slumlord, she could loosen a stair tread, so he goes tumbling down. Then, while he's laying there paralyzed at the bottom of the stairs, she could give him her "you heartless bastard slumlord" speech before snapping his neck to finish him off.

For the priest, she could rip pages from the Bible, (reading select passages to heighten the irony) and stuff them into his mouth till he suffocates.

For the dirty cop, she could keep tasing him till he expires, perhaps starting with his dick. Is she going to get him hard first, so he doesn't know it's coming? Actually, if she tased him when he was cumming, the liquid would make for better conductivity for the electrical current. Plus, it would hurt like hell!

(Well, that was fun, wasn't it? I'm so glad I found this thread tonight. Now I can go to bed in a good mood.)

Have the characters involved done something in particular to cheese this woman off? Does she have her own desires or fetishes that would lean her towards using a particular type of method or weapon?

ie - is she a sadist? Is she bitter against them, and then would be more likely to go for an 'irony' killing?

I haven't written many stories where I've had to bump characters off, but most of them end up with the dead protagonist morbidly surprised at the circumstances of the death - normally provoked by their killer. As opposed to having them thwacked by a bus.

If you choose your characters, you surely define their murders.

The naughty priest is disposed of either with a whiff of cyanide gas through the confessional grill or a drugged goblet on the altar.

The dirty cop apparently shoots himself with his own gun.

The slum landlord 'trips' on the rusty fire escape.

Gives you total plot control.

You guys have wonderful suggestions.

To answer the question on motive for the murders:

The story of the protagonist's encounter with each of them is detailed backstory as to developing her as a femme fatale. Each of the three somehow will "deserve" to be expunged from existence.

The priest's encounter with her will be when she's 18, the reason for the death of the priest is relatively obvious: they're supposed to be someone that you can trust, and sexually abstinent.

The cop encounters her when she is closer to 20, and although I haven't decided upon the circumstances of their meet, he is chosen because he's a bane to the community. I'm sure you can all imagine why.

The slumlord is her next victim. She meets him when she's 21, he's the landlord of her apartment building. The reasons for his death are a little more personal to the protagonist.

Anyways, I'm very thankful for the suggestions, you guys are fantastic. =)

Just a bit of advice you didn't really ask for.

In an erotic story for the lit audience, you generally need to build the sexual tension toward a climax. If you get the backstory of rape and sexual abuse followed by a retribution scenario where the killer is telegraphed, it is going to be more difficult to keep the reader 'turning the page' - either to find the answer to the murder mystery or the 'climax' - so to speak.

If your heroine suffers all these indignities when young and vulnerable, couldn't she become an FBI agent (Starling - Silence of the Lambs) and investigate the apparently unconnected murders until she is unmasked in bed with her lover. We want to suspect someone else.

Just a thought to say, make sure you keep the dramatic tension high til the conclusion.

The story includes no rape/non-consent. Our protagonist merely seduces men who deserve to be taught a lesson- and then she goes about teaching them one (in her own way).

I thank you for the advice, although it may not apply to this circumstance, it will most definitely serve me well later in the story.

Good luck dpeach,

Stop twittering here and go write the story so we can enjoy. What's the lit equivalent of 'salivating'?:cattail:
