Just to let air get to bum and groin area. Sleeping in underwear is almost like sleeping with your socks on. Fresh air required for good skin and hygiene. Loose fitting PJs sometimes depending on how cold it gets and thickness of blankets. Even on coldest of nights my feet may stick out from under blankets as they feel hot.

I cannot ever recall a time when I slept without underwear and only a few occasions when I slept without socks. My feet get cold easily. I could probably do without them during the warmer seasons but its a lifetime habit.

I could see that. On the other hand, I usually wear shorts until I'm ready for bed, so I could grab those, put 'em on and be out the door relatively quickly.

I usually only wear underwear when I have my period.

Otherwise, it's a big t-shirt or tshirt with shorts when we've got company or when we vacation with others in a communal setting, like camping tents, pop-trailers, summer cottages, etc.

Exactly. And as a dumb little kid, I actually did that. Developed a horrible case of athlete's feet. Brought that silliness to a quick end.

Today, on the coldest of nights I might sleep in a T-shirt. That's it.
