This is something my boyfriend have been discussing, but I have some questions.

What are some comfortable positions? Arms in front? Arms in back? Hands to the headboard?

What's the best material? Rope? Leather cuffs? Handcuffs?

Safety concerns? Quick release in case of fire, etc.?

Thanks.

Netzach can probably answer this best of all when she reads it. As for positions, think along the lines of fetal. If you could handle it for four months (to include the rude "awakening" at the end) in utero, you can probably handle the same for one night. Besides, what better way to awaken than with a slapped ass?

Comfort pretty much depends on the individual and what body issues you may have. I like my hands fastened above my head to the headboard, which due to many arthritic and other pain issues, allows for some change of position when it becomes totally unbearable or numbness of limbs sets in. As to safety, there are some great cufs which we have which are velcro fastened and clip together by means of a clip on the innner wrist. It is easy enough in an emergency to get lose, and needs to be considered not just for fire, but incase something happens to your Dominant through the night, or you for that matter where for health reasons you need to be freed quickly and he may not be able to be woken quickly enough. You can also be tied with rope using a knot where by leaving it within easy reach, you can pull on the rope end and be instantly freed....we also ahve used this in all variations of bondage. Also remember not to have the bondage too tight, especially if you are prone to slight swelling while asleep. Have fun.

depends on how you naturally sleep...

Are you a belly sleeper? Hands in back might leave you smothering in the pillow...

My Master used to simply fasten my collar ring to a heavy chain wrapped around a metal bedpost. Loud, admittedly, clanked a lot when I rolled over and such. When He felt I needed more, he'd put cuffs on my ankles, and run chains to either bottom post, and/or do the same with my wrists. Made rolling over or onto my side awkward but not impossible. He also used double-ended thumb-latches, rather than locks, in case of any emergency.

Ahhhh

Yeah, I like the fetal position and I like nighty night bondage to be mostly symbolic, because who ever knows, some shit could catch fire or something.

one of the few times I've ever taken orders from afar, I would sleep with my hands cuffed with these very simple, light, deerskin cuffs from stockroom that were very cozy.

Now, if you want to do immobilizing night time bondage anyway, risks be danmed, I think a sleepsack or bag is the way to go. They make these in spandex, I'd use that over leather or latex if you are actually sleeping in it. It's breatheable, lightweight, and perfectly comfy, but immobilizing.

You can also have the bottom lie down on a blanket, roll it around them like a jelly roll and then put some straps over that, they will be going NOWHERE fast .

Sleep+immobilizing bondage = whining to use the bathroom. Remember that.

Probably well known is the sleep sack, but just in case:

Leather sleep sack

When I first saw this I started to kind drool a bit and get excited for unknown reasons. :D

Sleep Rules

One of my owned sleeps with a leather collar and a leash every night, with the leash tied to the headboard. This is one of her standing rules of conduct.

Some nights, she is required to bind her knees and ankles with belts or ropes, sometimes with vibes and/or plugs in her. Other nights, her ankles are tied with easy-to-undo lashings to the bottom corners of the bed when I want her immobilized that way.

In each case, though, she can get herself loose in a minute if she needs to. That is vital, whether the owned sleeps alone, or with her owner.

It is the knowing that it is done voluntarily, and that it is something that pleases me that makes it part of her regular nighttime ritual. It adds a measure of comfort and closeness for her, even though we are apart.

Since she has been doing this for the last six months, she truly misses her nighttime bondage when she is unable to accomplish it when visiting family, etc.

Sin.

I like sleeping with one ankle cuffed to a chain to the bottom of the bed. It allows me to turn from one side to the other comfortably. The chain does make some noise when I move but not enough to wake him up. I like leather cuffs because they feel like a man's hand holding me safe and secure. I also like that, should I need to get up in the middle of the night, he has to awaken and wait for me to come back to refasten the cuff. If he chains my ankle to the bed, to me, it means he cares enough about me to deal with being woken in the middle of the night. Of course, if need be I can release it myself. In the two years I slept that way, I never found the need to release or attach the chain myself.

For me that is a safe feeling.

Thank you for your suggestions so far.

What we have been doing when we get a chance to sleep together (we're living apart now, but planning to move in together in late September) is sleeping "spooned" with his arms around me. We both find it very comforting to know where the other is in the night, not to mention the close body contact. While his arms around me are not classicly "bondage" it would be very difficult to get up in the night without waking him.

I've also slept with a blindfold on. I'm usually awake with the sun and it's me stirring awake that wakes him. With the blindfold he woke first and woke me with a kiss.

Of what I have tried, simply bounding my legs with rope worked. Veery uncreative and easy for me to get out of - with my hands only. I'm a noob in this game, but all I know is dleep felt really good whenever I did that.
