Blood boiled in Kona's veins. The bastards! Killing his brother, kidnapping his nieces and nephews and cousins and siblings, all of them. Tying him up and throwing him onto a ship without so much as a word. He lay in the middle of a pile of people from his homeland, forced to lay in stacks to make room, unable to move and hardly able to breathe. His hands and ankles were lashed together with chains. If not for them, he'd have killed the slavers by now.
Kona was a proud warrior of his tribe, but had been bested by the strange and terrifying ways of the humans. He was a large black beast of a werewolf, with hard amber eyes and white tattooing all across the left side of his body from the tips of his ears and face down to his tail and footpaws. He had been stripped naked for inspection, and left that way when thrown in the ship's hold.
He didn't know how long it was before suddenly sunlight blinded him, and he was forced to his feet after others were pulled off of him. A human tried to make him drink from a pail of fresh water, but Kona refused until his head was forced into the bucket. He was dragged down the gangplank to a dock, and water was thrown on him to clean at least the outer layer of grime off. He was handed a tough bar of soap, and directed to the shallow shoreline, still bound in chains, and made to clean himself. Once out, he shook his fur out and was assaulted with hemp-rough towels, then his fur was hurriedly brushed into a presentable state and he was forced to don a pair of brown trousers after his ankle shackles were released, only to be clapped back on. He snorted in disgust when a sickly cologne was sprayed on him, and he was smacked across the face for it. Kona soon found himself being dragged toward a square crowded with humans, all dressed in fancy clothes or mercenary gear, and he was made to stand in a line of fellow captives, all much smaller than him.
A scrawny werewolf was dragged up on a large platform stand and made to turn round completely and bare his healthy teeth and display his wiry body, and he was auctioned to a merchant needing an assistant to help care for his horses. Another went up, a brawny and short male. Kona's fifteen-year old nephew Kilio. He fought the auctioneer and captors so viciously, that he was suddenly dragged off the stand and whipped into unconsciousness. Kona could only look on in rage and horror.
Just about then, Duke Murdock Finn of Belfast arrived upon the auction with his daughter Luna, come to find her a slave to tame into a guardian. "Look at them, Luna. See how strong they are? Even the children could overpower a fully-grown man." He watched as a child was brought up with his pregnant mother, and the pair were sold to a vintner. Then, Kona was dragged onto the stand. Murdock smiled, "He's the biggest of them all. Would you like him, darling?" Kona stood proud on the stage, and he displayed his impressive body without needing direction from the auctioneer, and he bared his fangs viciously for them all to see they were pearly white and sharp as daggers.
