hopefully talk with you enough that we share usernames on a site we use. Never know what might come up there talking mmmm
 
I’ve been wondering what to replace Skype with. It’s my main one, though I also use a bunch of others.
I am mainly concerned with losing the ability to call home and cell phones in particular countries 400 mins for $6.99 month and having a local number in that country for about $14/yr.
Does anyone have any recommendations for the phone service parts?

Skype are apparently moving all of the accounts over to Teams and are making Teams Free as well but I don't know what the rate is to call from Teams unfortunately as I don't use it
 
How do people manage having two accounts for the same app? I'm trying to move away from Meta products and Discord etc might be a good option for my irl connections but I don't want to cross the streams and have them in the same place as my Lit friends. Do you find it easy to manage or is it overly complicated?
 
I have a private gmail that I can sign into on an inprivate chrome session ... and use google chat for my "friends"

I have two Skype accounts and when I used them both I had no problem. Sign into one on the app and one through the web if you want to be on both at the same time.
I only use one now, and just have everyone on one.
It depends on what your looking for, if you want to make posts like on Facebook then you’ll need two accounts and separate them by browsers/apps, if you want something like Skype , you can use gtalk, telegram, WhatsApp, etc for everyone because only those in the conversation can see them.

I currently have 2 accounts for both Discord and Skype, on 3 devices. Skype makes you jump through a fuckton of hoops to log back in, but Discord makes it super easy to switch accounts.

Either way, helps to make sure your names and avatars on both accounts are different, and look for the avatar in the corner before posting to make sure you’re on the right one!
 
I migrated my Skype account to a free teams account today and I’ve been using teams with Skype contacts. I’m afraid I’ll lose my uk phone number but I’ll still be able to call their for 6.99 month (400 minutes)
The only trick is you have to join the free teams insider program to get everything to port over.
 
Is Skype already gone? A friend just emailed me and said it didn't work.
 
I have no idea. I have less than 10 contacts on Skype and rarely talk to any of them. I will probably just move on from any of these Apps. Getting tired of all the phone obsession.
 
For me, Skype is still fully functional however, I have downloaded and began a profile in Teams. Teams is in the process of merging all of our Skype contacts into Teams. It’s a random process. My contacts became active in Teams within a week of downloading and creating a Teams profile. Existing Messages in Skype merged as well. For now, I’m getting 2 alerts every time I receive a Skype message. Sometime In May, Skype will shut down. Hopefully this is helpful.

Mine is being odd, sometimes stuff appears on teams from Skype another times hours later teams just duplicates what’s on Skype
 
I just switched over to Teams. It moved all my contacts and conversations over from SKYPE automatically

I got several messages from Skype saying that I could use my international phone plan until May 5, but today I couldn’t make any calls. 😡
