"Signal also collects far less data on users than Telegram does. Signal generally only stores the date on which you created your account as well as the last time you connected. In contrast, Telegram’s metadata may include your IP address (which can give away your location) as well as who you are talking to and when. That matters when the authorities show up at Telegram’s facilities with a search warrant."But it’s not public, right? Like it’s just telegram that has your info?
I have used signal for 10 yrs and not ONE SINGLE SPAM TEXT OR CALL.Anecdotally, I signed up for Signal a couple years ago and got a fuckton of spam calls, starting that same day. My phone was still relatively new, and I hadn’t given it to many personal contacts or businesses yet. Obviously I can’t prove they got my number from Signal, but I have no other explanation for it eitherI don’t have enough other people who use Signal to ask if that was the case with them too, except the best friend I signed up with, and he saw an increase in spam calls too, although it as much as mine.
We signed up for Signal because at that time, Twitter DMs and Discord were not letting me send…explicit personal videosSignal did, sooo…there’s that

Good for you? 3 people isn’t enough of a sample size for me to recommend Signal with any confidence though.I have used signal for 10 yrs and not ONE SINGLE SPAM TEXT OR CALL.
Umm I have a group of lit members in a Signal group chat AND none have recieved any spam or texts outside of the group messages!Good for you? 3 people isn’t enough of a sample size for me to recommend Signal with any confidence though.
I would advise caution to anyone considering Signal. Use at your own risk.
My dude…do you own stock in Signal or something? Do they pay you to ride their dick this hard?Umm I have a group of lit members in a Signal group chat AND none have recieved any spam or texts outside of the group messages!
I think you should think more deeply on the cause of your spam and call rather than blame Signal.
AhahhaaMy dude…do you own stock in Signal or something? Do they pay you to ride their dick this hard?
We are sharing pros and cons of various chat apps here. We get it, you love Signal. It might not be the perfect one-app-fits-all solution for everyone though, and you’re just going to have to learn to live with that.
Non-profits still pay employees, so the paid dick-riding still appliesAhahhaa
Signal is non profit.
Learn a bit before showing your ignorance and spouting shit you know nothing about
Wrong again.Speaking of pros and cons: one thing I, personally, don’t love about Signal requiring a phone number, is that it will only let me put it on one device.
At home on wifi, I use an old iPhone that’s more convenient for my tiny hands. I also have a wifi-only iPad, and an Android phone, which is the one that actually has service. When I tried to log into Signal on another device, I lost access to it entirely for a couple days.
I’ve never used Telegram, so no idea how it would handle multiple devices with one phone number.
Okay missy,Non-profits still pay employees, so the paid dick-riding still appliesYou are taking people not worshiping your app of choice WAY too personally, it’s just weird.
Wrong, because that is exactly what happened and I don’t recall you being there with me a year and a half ago.Wrong again.
You can link devices to the one signal account.
Please just admit you don't know what the fuck you are talking about on THIS issue
Try teleguard, works like a charmShame that telegram requires you to use a real phone number![]()
Hands up that's a new one for meTry teleguard, works like a charm
Nice. Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like Signal but without the need to share a phone number. I'd still be interested in using telegram since it seems like it has a community of pervs to meet for cam play. That being said, this app looks like a great option for connecting once you've met someone who wants to get off with you. Wonder if it let's people set up groups too like you can in Skype or snapchat....Try teleguard, works like a charm
If you will be expanding your use of Discord to include more Lit friends, I would suggest either changing your Discord name, or making a separate Discord account than the one you use for work. When you join a new server, most will let you change your server-nickname, but your default name will be visible until then. The other thing with discord is that folks can just add you to group chats and then bring in other people and you have no input. I was in a chat with three others and then one of them added a fourth person that I was not close with without saying anything.
I am very slow to share my name but all of a sudden I was in a group chat with three friends that knee my name and one person I would not have chosen to share it with. It was not awesome.
Edited to clarify, you have to be friends with the person who adds you but they can put people that you are not friends with together in a group chat.

Another option would be to create your own server, and set role permissions so that only you or those you trust can invite others

Sometime in May, not sure if beginning or at end of month. So if you have Skype, it just won’t work anymore after when?
Or are they just not supporting it anymore and it’s unsecure?
I guess I’ll have to find a alternative.
