Skippy

I love to eat bambi, and if I had skippy overrunning the world as much as bambi I'd eat it too.

How about Black Stallion (or whatever was the original name ... we called him Furia in Italy)?
Don't care for steak (but don't care for any steak in general), but it makes a delicious Bresaola ham (that you eat like carpaccio).

God, I know. Anybody who says deer hunting is cruel oughta have to live around 'em all the time. It's population control here. Hunters are allowed a deer a day here during hunting season, and they still run rampant.

I've eaten Skippy once, at a barbie. As rebecca said, a bit gamey but edible, I think it would taste better if marinaded first. I also tried emu which was a lot tastier than Skippy :p

In NZ we farmed deer so I ate lots of Bambis. Honey soy venison stirfry :D My father was employed by the pest board to shoot rabbits so we had rabbit stew a couple of times as a kid...though most of the rabbits he brought home were for cat food (my mum had up to 5 cats sometimes!) Never eaten possum although they are plentiful and in NZ the only good possum is a dead possum

Skippy is also a brand of cornflakes where I come from

Eeewwwww! Bandit! *laugh*

I couldn't bring myself to eat a skippy.

The only skippy I've seen here was dead on the roadside :(

Skidding in from another continent...in very nice new heels....

Arriving a bit late...

What the hell is a skippy? Because all I can think of is peanut butter as well. I'm feeling out of the loop and I don't like that. No. Not at all.

Skippy is like Lassie, except Skippy is a kangaroo.

And while I have not eaten Skippy, her hide is really great for whips. Seriously. I lust after a roo hide whip.

I have no serious moral objections to eating anything, cat and dog would be hard for me, and I get pangs of regret when I eat crustaceans. Eyes on stalks are so....cute. And it takes a lobster a good long middle aged lifetime to get table-ready - I'm not eating anything older than I am.

I don't think I can chow down on insects, as some of my friends have in places remote, but chicken parts most westerners reject are rad, bambi is good, eel is yummy, I'd eat a bunny no problem and I keep egging my lover on to bring me a duck or something sometime.

I prefer Skippy peanut butter. I didn't need to know about the 'roo. sigh....food-wise, anyway.....

I am totally into the circle of life. Just some things (or beings) don't work. Like soft-shell crabs.

Love lobster though. Someone else has to kill them and cook them first.
Don't eat chicken. Ever. Ate a duck egg recently though.....

And I never, ever eat insects. EVER.
No bugs.
Yuck.

I've heard they're just not that good, but I think that's a scam perpetrated by horse lovers. I love horses. I'd still eat one if I were among people who did and were serving me their best, I'm just not going to go out of my way.

I like to think if I were hanging with a collective of indigenous activists in Chiapas and locust was on the menu I could just tuck in, I really wish I didn't have ANY hang ups about any of it.

So this is a TV character?

Hmm. I was so far off base thinking peanut butter.

*sigh*

I hope if I ever start eating meat, I will try every damn thing except cat. Noooooo!

:rose:

yeah, I don't think I can do that one. Or big cat. But I imagine they taste kinda rank anyway, being predators.

I just adore kitties too much.

Now people, I don't like them nearly as much.

LOL.

Ditto on the horse thing. I don't have an overwhelming desire to eat it, but if I were in some country where it was a delicacy, and they actually knew how to prepare it, I'd at least try it.

I love horses, seriously. But the myths that horse people put up about eating horses make me crazy. If you ever get bored one day and have nothing better to do, go to an equine BB and post a thread about horse slaughter. Imagine what a trainwreck we'd have on Lit if we combined breathplay, "real" sub/slave, scat, religion, politics, and a discussion of people's various alts all in one thread. That's something along the lines of what you'll get.

Horses are no more noble than any other herbivore. Would I send my own to slaughter? No. Would I think any less of someone else who did? No.

Errrr...please excuse that little tangential soapbox.

My personal favourite is how you hear about people eating grubs, and what an excellent source of protein they are.

It's a grub. You eat it. Fuck that. *shudder*

I know. But it's only about a fifteen degree turn from escargots. Maybe with enough butter and garlic.

So Skippy is a roo??

Then no, I have not had skippy.

I have had shark, octopus, squid, rabbit, moose & bear tho :)
Emu meat was cool.. found out AFTER the meal ;)

Shark is AWESOME on the BBQ, rabbit was useless for anything but stew (I found at least) moose & bear you really need a slow cooker for or it turns out like shoe-leather. The octopus & squid I can't really judge they were breaded & deep fried :(

I am sure not all parts of the horse are used for glue..
the rest HAS to go somewhere, hotdogs, dog food...
I am SURE that is just an urban myth about cats in chinese food...

we are top of the food chain right now, may as well enjoy it...

Could you eat Skippy?

I think thats disgusting!

She is a sick, sick puppy.

Real she is!

My mate has eaten horse.. Says its the best meat he has ever eaten!

I'm a veggie so I'm not guilty of eating any animal.
