I'm a average male, 6" and 1-1/2" wide to be exact. I get really turned on by the thought of my girl being filled with a realistic dong 2 to 2-1/2" in girth and at least 9" long. If you're worried that she might find something larger than you in a toy, she's got plenty of options out there. Now if you're worried about something better than you, I'd say you've got deeper problems.
But I agree with djyak wholeheartedly- ask. Talk to her. It's her body and she'll know what she's going to feel comfortable with.

I have to agree with Lust Engine, there is a difference between a toy that is larger vs. better than you.
The earlier dildos and vibrators my wife had were around the same size as me and as with you, it was me that was interested in getting her a dildo that is larger overall than I am, in both length and girth. I spoke to her about the desire to see her take something that is larger than I am. She was honestly surprised and was reluctant, afraid that I would get upset if she enjoyed it "too" much. We bought a realistic 7" Dildo and when using it together with the Hitachi Magic Wand, to say that she enjoyed it would be a massive understatement!
When that 7" Dildo started to split, we replaced it with an Feeldoe which has a 7" insertable length (which is now used on me on occasion) and we have since upgraded to a "Feeldoe More" with an 8" insertable length to use on my wife which she loves and I love to use on her. The "bulb" on the other end makes a great handle too.
With the 8" feeldoe we really have to get her good and ready for it or it can be uncomfortable. We still use some more "regular" or "average" size dildos too as she doesn't always want the larger sizes.
My wife has already said that she doesn't want to go any larger than the 8" dildo because of the mild discomfort if she's not ready for it, and some lingering discomfort later sometimes afterward even if she was good and ready. I've read similar sentiments from some women on Lit who find that dildos over a certain size are just more uncomfortable than erotic, so don't be too upset if "your girl" doesn't feel she's ready or even interested to try to take a 9-incher.
Also, hopefully to help ease your fears, I've found that with my wife that it is hardly a replacement but is a great way to augment our sex life, so that "we" can keep going for her even if I can't or just need some time to "recharge"!
