Six degrees thread ... rebooted

Good job everyone. I'll post the next one and leave the scoring on that round to nauti. :D

A reminder of the VERY confusing rules:
*I will post an initial picture, a string of pictures in the middle, and then a concluding picture. The first person has to use the initial picture, and one of the pictures in the middle string, and "connect" them when they appear in the same movie. The next person will take the second performer listed in the previous response, and select one of the remaining pictures in the middle string, and find a film those have in common. This continues until there is only one picture in the middle string, which then has to be "connected" to the end picture.
*There may be more than one correct way of navigating through the set of pictures. However, not every choice will let you get all the way through the list. If you think that is the case, and you find yourself stuck, you may back up as far back in the response list as you like and restart the list at that point.
*A person can only post to a particular set once every 12 hours; that is, you may post again 12 hours after your last post on the same set. The clock also restarts with every new set of pictures.
*Only posts in the string that finally makes it to the end will count for points for those that posted on that set.
*The strings will get longer with each correct set of answers (up to a point).
*One last note, these are all film connections ... not television.

As for newbie's inquiry.... Since there is a rule that says only posts in the string that makes it to the end will count, there was still a chance that someone could have followed yours. While it's rare anymore, there are still times when we could get competing strings and even if both have valid posts only one string gets the points.

Since RU posted shortly after you, it's possible that he was searching for the connection at the time you posted and didn't refresh to see that you had made that link and as Brad already said he didn't really look, just posted after the last link. If somebody had followed my original and posted the Franco-Napier connection and that one made it to the end, those would have been the posts that counted.

On precedent from Nor, an uncredited appearance can score a point but as a tip to everyone playing I will never use an uncredited appearance in a puzzle. So if that's all you can find, it could be a clue that you might not be on the right track. Same goes for voice work unless the entire string is strictly voice work.

That's the way I construct mine as well.

I really don't mind if the point is given away....I was searching for info at the time. So many of these actors look familiar...yet you just don't know their names. You simply have to remember the movies they were in and try to go from there. I just hate having to always be looking up at the leader...bored.

I do that, too. Usually it's the more famous the film, the better.

Well, like the lotto...ya gotta play to win!

Haven't really had a chance to work it out so I may be shooting myself in the foot..... But I can't NOT use one of my all time favorite movies. :D

Patrick Fugit was in Almost Famous with Frances McDormand

Ah, you know I did not even look at the times honestly. However, my question was specifically to see if I had broken a rule regarding the uncredited thing as I didn't remember it and couldn't find anything on it but sometimes I miss things.

No worries, RU. It had nothing to do with the point...

Yell if you want any help. :) I was really lucky with this set because my boyfriend recognized a few of the films and could point me in the right direction. I would have been completely lost otherwise.
