Six degrees thread ... rebooted

Nor,

I'm glad to see that you are doing better and that you have come back for a visit.

I found that I really like putting a puzzle together, and nauti does such a great job, I vote for rotating that responsibility....with the understanding that those not putting them together have to work on it (I'm pointing a finger at myself, because I was so busy this past weekend)

B

OK, a brief update ... a couple of you know I had some SERIOUS sleep issues from September 2009 through September of this year (I can count on my fingers the number of times I slept more than 3 hours from October through August, and have both thumbs and fingers uncounted). One of the problems that occured was I had some bad short term memory issues: for example, I couldn't remember two days later working with a customer at all, though my logged notes for the day in question indicated I had worked nearly 3 hours with him (I had a total blank on that). In another situation, I totally insulted a then-good friend on a couple of occasions, and I have no clue about that either (other than what she said afterwards).

Well, unfortunately, during the same period of time, my doctor had caught some odd results from a blood test in March and had given me a prescription to deal with the diagnosed issue. And while I apparently filled the prescription, I don't remember anything about it at all, nor do I remember either the doctor visit, or calling in a prescription ... but I know that it was never taken, the issue was never treated (though my doctor thought he had done what was needed) and so the problem worsened, and unfortunately it resulted in some fairly substantial issues that were only discovered when they were testing for prostate cancer (which I talked about earlier). So I have been unavailable for a while as I had to deal with it ... but that unavailability is no longer required to continue.

So that's what my story has been (is this too open and public a notice?), but ... while I am busy the next three nights (dress rehearsal with the orchestra tonight, yay), I am looking in to see just what is going on with the thread, and I find it has grown and blossomed without me. I feel like a proud mom ... is this what motherhood feels like? (Minus the labor pains of course; I wasn't really planning on sympathizing to THAT degree.)

I am wondering how y'all would like to go ahead with this thread in the future. Clearly I am not NEEDED per se, but wouldn't mind resuming what I was doing, although maybe you would prefer to do the photo manipulations yourselves or on a rotation basis. I am just curious, and would like opinions.

Nor! Welcome back! :rose:

That must have been so scary for you. I trust, by your return, that you have finally gotten everything under control. That's wonderful!

I'm glad that you're okay with our carrying on in your absence, although you should know that you could never be replaced. I can only hope that we have lived up to your high standards.

I have missed your puzzles and would definitely like to see you putting them together for us again, but I must admit, I have also enjoyed putting them together. Since you asked for our opinion, I think I'd like to vote with newbie and Brad. I think some sort of rotating schedule would work wonderfully, especially as there are times when our offline lives take one of us away for a while. Plus I think it would be fun for you to play along with us. :)

Well it looks like you all might finally wrap this one up. :) Tricky of me not to use that Carell - Freeman link, don't ya think? ;)

We're celebrating Christmas with my family this weekend, so I won't be around much. If it's okay, I'd be happy to post the next set, too, so you all can work on it together.

The story so far.....

Dakota Fanning was in the Runaways with Scout Taylor-Compton
Scout Taylor-Compton was in Sleepover with Steve Carell
Steve Carell was in Bruce Almighty with Lisa Ann Walter
Lisa Ann Walter was in The Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan
Linday Lohan was in Bobby with Laurence Fishburne
Laurence Fishburne was in Mystic River with Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon was in Planes Trains and Automobiles with John Candy
John Candy was in Spaceballs with Michael Winslow
Michael Winslow was in Police Academy with Kim Cattrall
Kim Cattrall was in The Bonfire of the Vanities with Morgan Freeman

Well, at least treatment is over for now even if it isn't a certainty that everything is under control. Time will tell.

My standards are high? Wow, that is news to me. :) So, it seems everyone likes to try to do this on occasion. Then do we rotate this by rounds up to 25 points or so?

I'm good with whatever everyone wants to do. If it's easier to do a couple of rounds at a time like nauti and I have been, that's fine as well.

:rose: Welcome!

A reminder of the VERY confusing rules:

*I will post an initial picture, a string of pictures in the middle, and then a concluding picture. The first person has to use the initial picture, and one of the pictures in the middle string, and "connect" them when they appear in the same movie. The next person will take the second performer listed in the previous response, and select one of the remaining pictures in the middle string, and find a film those have in common. This continues until there is only one picture in the middle string, which then has to be "connected" to the end picture.
*There may be more than one correct way of navigating through the set of pictures. However, not every choice will let you get all the way through the list. If you think that is the case, and you find yourself stuck, you may back up as far back in the response list as you like and restart the list at that point.
*A person can now only post to a particular set once every 12 hours; that is, you may post again 12 hours after your last post on the same set. The clock also restarts with every new set of pictures.
*Only posts in the string that finally makes it to the end will count for points for those that posted on that set.
*The strings will get longer with each correct set of answers (up to a point).
*No film may be used more than once in a particular winning path.
*One last note, these are all film connections ... not television.

Yes, with the number of players we have, it takes a while to get through each set. Not sure If I'd be able to take a whole month off from solving. :) If there are three of us posting sets, we'd all be able to play 2 out of three rounds.

Sounds great to me. I'd prefer this setup as well.

There is still someone I'm not sure of, but I will take a leap:

Jack Warden was in Heaven Can Wait with Buck Henry

Am I right in thinking the guy with the bandana is next? I have looked and looked for that picture everywhere, and even though I think I know who it is, I haven't been able to find it, so I have questioned my answer.
