Sites to meet people

I was wondering if anyone can recommend good sites to meet other local gay men? I know there are a ton out there, but I am looking for something that's not for a quick fling or random hookup? I am pretty closeted and since I am not looking for something quick, I find it almost impossible to meet other guys. I also don't feel comfortable putting a photo of my face online, so I am beginning to think I am a lost cause . Any advice (if there even is any in my case) would be appreciated. Thanks.

Since your not looking for hookups, that leaves out manhunt, grindr, hornet, and the like. Yes, you are quite correct, there are tons of them.

As for meeting gay men for dating and potential LTR, perhaps some of the more mainstream sites such as Match, Zoosk, okCupid, etc. I'm pretty sure they are all gay compatible. At least I know OKC is. Honestly a simple GOOGLE SEARCH of gay dating turned up a list of all the current popular sites! Seriously, just google (or your preferred search engine) it!!

Although, fair warning: not posting a face picture is pretty much a guaranty of no action. Personally I wouldn't even consider a first date with a guy who wasn't out of the closet. YMMV. Best advice I can give you is to wait until you are ready to come out. I'm curious as to why you think you are ready to date, but not come out? You know out gay men worth dating not only want to meet you, but also your friends and family...and if you are still closeted, well that just isn't going to happen.
