Hey all,

I'm wondering about Sir names. I'm having a collar made for my boy and want to engrave it with 'property of - -'. Devising it made me realize that I'd never really thought about how I might differentiate myself from other Sirs outside of just speaking to my sub. Is it common for Sirs to have a 'nickname' so to speak, the way their subs might? Kinda like how you hear handles like 'Madame Red,' or whatever, for mistresses/dominatrixes/what have you.

Thanks kindly

My thoughts, probably unhelpful, would be whatever she calls you.

For example sirs pet or if found return to master.

She knows who she belongs to. Another Sir , if they saw this should have the brains to work out she is not his pet.

It's the same as it saying property of Bob. For example any other Bob would now she does not belong to him.

Also it shows that that is how she addresses you and as she is used to that it's comforting

Maybe whatever name/title he uses for you when you're in public?

Or "Master [firstname]"?

I'm with Tommy on this one. I refer to Him as 'Master'. Everyone can devise if I would have a collar that says 'Masters pet', that I belong to someone, but certainly not them. But if you WANT a name then by all means. Pick something you like and have fun!

Welcome to the board. :)

It's up to you if you think you should find a way to differentiate yourself from others. It's not common or uncommon. If you'd like a nickname, you can ask your sub if they have something they'd prefer to call you or you can choose something (together if you'd like).

I use names with my others that have meaning within the relationship (I don't use sir or master). Others like to use things like sir and master. Decide what is best for you and your sub. He may like using just sir. Also, there's nothing against you using your real name. If it's Doug, it could say 'property of Doug.'

No wrong way to do this.
