Reply to Jon

As Jon makes his way back towards the city in the morning light, he comes upon a woman washing her clothes in the river. She gives a start at the site of an armed man, but then seeing the shreds of his boot and the sticky blood she gestures him closer "come here, Sir and let me look at that. I've a poultice perhaps at the house that might aid in the healing. Animal? or did you step in a furriers trap? There's plenty along here looking for Mink"

Rather than immediately pay the woman and then leave her to her drunken stupor, Valen turned to her and took her hand, placing the rest of the owed silver into her palm. He could smell the stale alcohol on her still, despite the open air, and he found that to be concerning. Despite her drunken state, she'd managed to lead him through the streets with unerring accuracy. That in itself spoke of someone greater, once upon a time. A willpower that needed tending. Death came for all, but it need not be to one's own vices.

"Miss, look at me." His voice carried with it some measure of his divine power, gifted as it was. A small drop of it moved from him to her, from his hand to her's, and he could feel it working as he'd willed it, a simple healing spell that couldn't fix any real damage but would help sober her up just a bit. "I need your help. In exchange, I'm willing to offer more coin, and if you do well, more work. Do you think you can do that?"

He wouldn't press beyond that, he wasn't one to force a decision on anyone. Besides, he was eying the house now, considering it carefully. Nobility were almost always a problem, they often cared little for the divine beyond the lip service needed to appear pious. That didn't apply to all, of course, but Valen would sooner bet against them in that regard. The guards at least seemed well paid, if less than helpful, and even he could see the disdain leveled against him or, more likely, the woman beside him. Her dirty, clearly destitute, appearance would draw attention on these streets.

The owman straightens a bit, eyes clearer. She blinks and looks around, looking back up at the Paladin. She seems torn between being relieved and perturbed, but the promise of more coin seems to resonate. "Well, if you're wanting to pay me for sumthin the least I can do is listen a moment. What is it you are wanting?" she looks worriedly at the house, then back to Valen,

"Once we're outside" she says, a little brittle. She doesn't let go of his hand, turning to whsiper back "You should. Poor kid" trying for jocularity though her heart doesn't seem to be in it.

Andrej looks over at the two, and when he recognizes Clancy he turns scarlet. Kasia braces, as the rage of the young and idle rich is often explosive, particularly when cornered and embarrassed. To his credit, he sits quiet a moment "How like my father to send me with you" he sighs and deflates a little. "A constant reminder of my most recent failures." he shakes his head and starts to towel off "I am sorry, I appreciate the help. I really do." He sits and looks over at CLancy "do you have anything in there that will work on undead? I assume that's all the risk we really face" he crosses his legs, then looks over at the other two "Though, I have been to those crytps for the funeral of my uncle and they seemed inoccuous enough"

"Nothing to do with the house. I need you to hear things for me. Find out what you can about a man named Ulrich. He would have died around the New Year. See what people say about the man from across the city. Start in the poorer sections of the city, and be discrete. Talk to one of the ley priests of the Sisters when you need to get in contact with me."

It was a loose plan, admittedly, but Valen needed to start somewhere. While he didn't spend much time in cities, the basic idea remained the same. Information was needed before anything else, and he couldn't get it easily. Too noticeable if he started asking questions. So he'd need to recruit others, and who better than those who kept their were constantly watching anyway. Even he knew that it was the destitute who were often overlooked.

"Ask for Valen... I've forgotten to ask your name."

"Might be i could do that Milord. Valen" she shifts, saying the unfamiliar Homines name a few times to make sure she's got it right. Her insecurity suggests she may or may not folow through with it, and her prediliction for drunkeness could derail the project or assure tis completion as she seearches for more coin. Still. she nods "If i hear anything, I'll pass it along." she jangles the coin in her hand "now that's a strange house, Mister Valen, and I am going to leave you to it"

Jon was walking with his mind off on 100 other things. He was shocked when he nearly walked into her missing her and the wash by a foot or so. Jon's sword is sheathed on his hip while being covered by the shield tho still in view at the same time. Jon comes closer glad to have a conversation with this stranger.

The woman's eyes seam to lock on his boot that was bitten by the wolf. As she says she has something that can help with the healing, Jon nods in agreement and smiles. Jon nods again as she asks what did it as she asks if it was a animal. When she is done asking questions. Jon says " It was a lone wolf that must of been hungry and thought I would be a easy meal a ways up the river, but it turns out that the wolf is now a meal for someone els. As I gave the meat away. I don't have spare coins for the aide, but I would be glad to do some work. Maybe hunting or something for payment. In 2 days I gotta be back in town tho. I would be glad to offer some kind of services to swap for you to help with the healing aide. "

Jon's appointment was actually at this point the next day. The woman nods "get your boot off. I'll come back down from the house in a few. for now let the river wash it clean and ill wrap it" she looks at it "if you killed a wolf around here..." she shifts a bit "did it seem unnatural to you? larger than it should? with red glowing hate in its eyes and fangs like daggers?"

Jon dose as she says sitting as she says to. Jon nodded yes to her question if it looked unnatural. Jon said "I am not from around here, so I don't know much about them. The wolf did have red eyes who. I did think it was odd as the wolf was by its self and not in a pack. I always heard of them being in packs. *Jon shrugs* Jon asks " With it having red eyes, when I killed it there was a mist that went to the river, but did not get on me. Will that effect the treatment??"

As Jon talks, he sits with his foot exposed foot with the water. Mostly of the openings are from the wolfs teeth pressing down. Tho few have small tears as the boots stopped most the tearing from the wolfs bite. The water dose feel good for the most part on Jon's foot other then the area with the teeth marks on it. Jon takes his other boot off to put both feet into the water and lays his shield on the ground behind him. Jon takes off his sword but keeps it along side him tho.

The woman nods "very much so. I hope your friend didn't eat that wolf" she disappears back up to the main house and comes down with some unguent. she applies it and a clean bandage to the wound "as for repayment well, theres a barn that needs to be mucked out and you look like a man who could get that done in a few hours. If you stay and do a few more chores ill feed you some supper come the end of the day"

Jon was glad he had got to eat his fill of fish, and smoked a few for rations over the next few days. Jon though about the rude woman from his old camp where the fight had been. Jon just mentally shrugged it off as what ever will happen is that lady's problem if she eats it or not. Jon had shaken his head no to far as Jon knew she didn't eat it yet.... Jon listened to the work to be done, and he nodded in agreement that he would muck out the barn, maybe a few more chores as well...

Jon didn't need the food, but he wouldn't turn it down. Jon asks "May I spend the night in the barn? Come morning I need to head into town, maybe I can do some shopping for you while I am there for my meeting. I am sure I will be in the area a few nights longer. I would be glad to work the next few days for a place to sleep. Even if I camp outside near your place, as I planned to camp by the river for the time. Yes I would be glad to do any chores for getting to stay, and the meal sounds better then my travel rations." Jon stayed soaking/washing his feet while the lady moved off to her house. Jon was happy to stay and relax while he waited.... Tho he did keep the sword near, but not on him.

Andrej smiles at Clancy "well. good to know we're all new to the game. hopefully one of us makes it back alive" He laughs "I'll have a few potions with me, things i got in the south on te caravan trail. Might make the difference between life and death. hopefully though we just stroll in and pick up the sword" He didn't sound too convinced, but he did appear hopeful nonetheless.

The woman nods "you can stay in the barn as long as you do a little work every day. Today its muck the barn, which you will want to do anyway so it doesnt smell like shit when you're sleeping. Tomorrow after your appointment if you get back at a reasonable hour, you can chop wood for the stove." She nods "I'm karina. what might your name be stranger?"

Andrej shrugs "well, we're all of us stuck with each other no matter how ill prepared one of us might be" He pours himself some water from a crystal decanter probably worth half a year of Clancy's pay, the clarity of it suggests real artistry as clear glass is exceedingly hard to make. Kasia shakes her head "lets head out" practically dragging Clancy outside. She inhales the somewhat cooler air of the night, then slumps against the wall. "fuck me" she shakes her head, tucking an errant curl back under her leather coif. She looks up at Clancy. "so... uh..." she fidgets "temember that guy, Mattias Metzger? Used to run a dice game. There was a ... dispute... over my luck one night and well." she screws up her mouth "his men grabbed me and hauled me off to this warehouse, and when they uh... went to do to me what such men do to women one of them stuck his dick in my mouth, like an idiot. I mean of course i tried to bite it off because, fuck that guy" she swallows, her hands balled into fists. She presses her face down into her knees and inhales deeply, wrapping her arms tigher around her legs "so... they decided to rip my teeth out first before uh. getting to the main event."

She sits for a long time, quiet then resumes "they were about done, when that guy came in. He ... he was like death incarnate. Not the sisters or the twins or whatever. Like... everywhere was the flash of that rapier and everywhere there was blood. so much blood. and screaming. When it was almost over I saw Mattius trying to pull his own guts back in... then the elf stabbed him through the heart. He would have done me too, I think ... then he saw the ears and just... pulled me out of there. I passed out and woke up here. Simic offered to heal me. give me my teeth back, heal where they cut me up. I jumped at it. I had no notion that the regeneration would cost so much. "

She leans back "do you know anything about counterfeiting wine? apparently... that's a thing"

Kasia spends a few quiet minutes during the pause between Clancy's words, letting herself cry about it for the first time. She wipes her face of tears and reaches for Clancy's hand, keeping ahold of it after she stands. She swallows and inhales, then exhales slowly. "lets just get a little cheese. lunch was pretty heavy" she says, still a little raw. She holds his hand a little too tight, then walks down towards the City "i'm... " she trails off a moment "anyway." then walks with him hand in hand down through the wealthest parts of town, the northern edge of the heights with a view of the countryside around the Demonska Planina. They make their way along the switchbacks, with mansions becoming houses, becoming townhomes, becoming the floor of the basin and the working class neighborhood near the wall. Kasia hails them a boat, and they float downriver to the slums in silent companionship.

There's a nod of ascent, but Valen doesn't wait long enough to watch her go. She'd help or she wouldn't, and a few bits of coin promised wouldn't harm things one way or the other. Without a further word he stepped more openly into the streets, his intent clear as he approached the gate, and the men guarding it. He briefly considered lying, but discarded the notion. It wouldn't do him any good and his own presence, and the Goddesses he served, would be too easily verified if one bothered to look.

"Greetings. I am Valen, Paladin of the Twins. I seek a Volk by the name of Jens-Deiter, and I was told he was here. May I speak with him, or failing that, whoever might be living within the house."

One of the guards looks Valen over a moment. he shifts a bit, eyes travelling along the man's clothes, but taking note of his fighting trim "Jens-Dieter is in the house with the Master. Is he expecting you?" he shifts a bit and looks over at the other guard, then jerks his head towards the house and the other guard sighs. The second guard heads into the house and returns a few moments later "He's on his way."

A few minutes later, a ruddy faced dirty blond Volk of middle age comes out from the house. His chain is visible under his tabard, and his shield bears the black field with a gold lion, rampant guardant. his hand falls to his belt, near his blade as he regards Valen "Ich bin Jens-Dieter. Wer bist du?" ( I am Jens-Dieter, who are you)

One of the guards looks to Valen "if you don't speak Volk i can translate into Homines"

Kasia rolls onto her back "You know. one of us could not make it. Seems silly to... regret... whatever we did tonight by not seizing in the chances we have" she looks up at the cieling, then over at Clancy "i mean i know I laid some heavy shit on your earlier but. Maybe not just cuddles"

Jon nods in agreement with the tasks. He says " I am Jonathan, but I go by Jon for sort. I have a meeting with the armor, and not sure how long that will last. I would think I should be back here by noon, but if I am not. How much wood would you need for the morning and early mid day?

the woman specifies an amount that seems doable, and shows Jon where the axe is "you're mucking out the barn first though. unless you want to sleep in cow shit" she smiles "ill bring you some lunch down and you can clean yourself up in the horse trough after, if you've a mind to. or the river if its still light"

Kasia kisses Clancy back, lips parting, tongue sliding out to meet his. She runs her hand up into his hair and cups tbe back of his head, pulling him in a little. She sighs, a soft exhalaation through her nostrils, and closes her eyes as she feels the comfortable solidity of him. rolling slightly into her back, she tries pulling Clancy with her, atop her. she wraps a leg around his, locking her body to him. She moans into the kiss, her movements becoming a little more urgent. Her grip tightens in his hair and tugs hard, hard enough for there to be a burn in his scalp. Breaking the kiss she gasps, then buries her face in his neck, kissing and biting as she works herself up.

Resonding to Karina/Siobhan

Thank you, yes mucking the stall out first then I will cut a bit of wood to cover the morning, so when I come back from the armorer I can finish cutting the wood for you. I think I will do a quick wash in the horse trough for lunch, but lunch sounds wonderful. Far better the hard bread and smokes dried meat. That I have for traveling, a meal on the move.

Oh by the way, thank you Karina for all that your doing. Jon smiles friendly at her as he takes the axe and set it by the opening of the barn door then grabs a shovel putting it by the barn door too. I will be looking foreword to getting to work right after eating. Odds are I will clean up really good in the morning at the river tho *Jon says with a smile* I should be around for 3 or 4 days, so please don't be shy to let me know if you got anything you need help with. I will be glad to be in service of you for the time being.

Kasia digs her nails into Clancy's back. She wraps her toned legs around him, clinging to him as he kisses and bites along her slender neck. she rocks against him, then releases him to wriggle out of her tunic. Her eyes look back up into his for a moment, then she pulls him into another kiss. Her small athletic frame grinds up into him, movements almost frantic but not quite. Kasia's nails claw their way down Clancy's back, only for her to grab his ass in both hands. She squeezes, simultaneously grinding up against him "I think you have a gun in your pocket" she murmurs into his ear, then bites just below iit, marking his skin. She inhales, then moans low into his ear "God i want you to fuck me Clancy"

The woman offers a sincere smile "I'll bring some sausage and some pogacha down for your lunch. IF you've clothes that need to be laundered, you can leave them here as well while you work. No point in going to your meeting smelling like a barn" she looks Jon over, seemingly approving of the man's large frame and presence "Anyway, get to working and we can get you fed and a nice place to sleep"

Kasia gasps at the sudden entry, whimpering a moment at the girth of Clancy's cock filling her tight recesses. she locks her legs around him, crossed at the ankles behind his ass. She pulls him in with her strong legs, gripping him tight with every thrust. Her head falls back, eyes closed as she moans out her pleasure at being filled by him. one hand slides down between them, rubbing her clit for a little added stimulation. Her free hand wraps inhis hair, pulling hard, tugging him in against her. Her lithe body rocks with the force of each thrust, shifting on the mattress. Her hips rise to meet him again and again as she takes him deep into her body "Yes. fuck. fucking fuck me Clancy. Fucking fuck me." her full lips of her too wide mouth part to emit low hungry moans, the urgent desire for Clancy evident in every breath. "Don't you fucking stop. Don't you fucking stop"
