Sinegard Academy for the Wayward

“Well, it’s kinda hard to explain…” Van started as he looked down sheepishly at his stylish but rather corporate attire. “Let’s just say it looks as if I’ll be joining the family business sooner rather than later….not exactly what I had planned….but it’s not without its perks.” He said waving out the doorway to the head of the cleaners.

“I don’t really need to rest…time passes differently in the hells. I’m glad you guys are okay though. What should we do about Ravyn? She’s still down there fighting for her life. And where the hell is Mkael?”

M'Kael
Landing hard on the floor M'Kael rolled and came up ready to clock someone. But it was too late. The door to the cell slammed shut with a thunk and a buzz as the ward was activated. He'd heard the sound of that spell enough times he knew what it was.

But he was as stupid as he was handsome. Touching the door, he hit the back wall as the shock blast hit him like a giant's mithril club. H couldn't feel his arm, and it tasted like lightening in his mouth. Yeah, the bitch was pissed at him again.

Maybe he should have asked before shoving his hard cock in her ass? Or maybe he shouldn't have whispered his sister's name when he came inside The Queen? Granted she'd been saying the names of her other lovers as well, caught up in her own personal fantasies, but she was queen, and he was not.

After a couple days they finally brought him food. He was one of the only food eaters in this realm so it's not like they could forget about that need. He didn't need much with time being wonky as fucking a pair Vampire Succubae twin lesbians. But he still had to eat, and of course that's when he understood just how bad things were.

He didn't know what he'd done to make things this bad, but being delivered a rotting rat covered in maggots and cockroaches meant it was bad.

Throne Room of the Queen of Shadowfell...

The Intruder vanished after delivering his requirements, and a rather hefty payment. How he'd managed to get such a rare treasure was unknown. Not that she cared.

But it's what he wanted in exchange that had her concerned.

A Human Mage named Gem Devonshire. A male Minotaur named Angus Maximus, her plaything M'Kael, his sister Ravyn, and anyone else in their company when they were caught. And no questions.

“What should we do about Ravyn? She’s still down there fighting for her life. And where the hell is Mkael?”

“We can't do anything for Ravyn. She told us not to disturb her. As for M’Kael, I’m not sure where he has gone to?” Angela said getting a puzzled look on her face.

“Maybe we should try to find him?” Angus suggested

“I was kind of hoping… we’d all get to know each other better” Angela said quietly.

“You just told Gem not to worry… there would be no hanky-panky!” Angus snorted “Besides, M’Kael is missing!” He added

“Oh ok” Angela replied reluctantly. She realized she had picked the wrong time and place to make that suggestion. “But everyone stays close to the house, in case there is another attack”

There were nods of agreement for Van and Angus. The three of them went around looking, but after 10 minutes they regrouped.

“No sign of him” Angus reported.

“I can try the cup of shadows… the shadow spirit will know where he has gotten off to” Angela suggested. “I’ll need to refill the cup. Luckily, the professor has some excellent drink options”

She walked over to the wine refrigerator and pulled out a Tawny Port.

“40-year-old Chache D'Or Tawny Port… this will do” Angela said with a naughty grin. The small bottle probably cost 1000.00 dollars. She poured some into the cup of shadows and drained it.

“I really should not drink such a great port so quickly. But finding M’Kael is important!”

A minute later the spirit told her, M’Kael was in shadow fell!

“Oh shit… he is back in shadow fell!” She told Van and Angus

Spitting blood onto the floor M'Kael looked at his assailant, and grinned. "Get yer knickers in a twist did you?"

The half-giant grunted and drove a fist deep into M'Kael's diaphragm, expelling air from his lungs and blood and broken teeth from his mouth.

"Temper, temper, numb nuts," M'Kael coughed.

His stolen Armour ay on the floor in the other room, his sword lay next to it with the shield propped against the wall.

Pulling back his fist, brass knuckles shining in the torch light, the thug grinned, a mithril tooth gleaming for a moment before M'Kael was beaten unconscious.

****

It became a daily routine. Was it daily? Weekly? Maybe it was whenever he regained consciousness? Fuck he couldn't tell anymore. He woke up thy gave him food – that he didn't eat – and then they beat him with questions thrown in.

****

While the Human Mage slept, “Oh shit… he is back in Shadow Fell!” Angela told Van and Angus.

And then a voice echoed from the nether regions of nothingness whispered in the room.

The King of Night is Come!

The Nightmare is freed.

The Light has become Dark.

The Dark becomes light.

The Virgin unpure.

The Horned Lord Rages

Deamon unbound

Silence Broken

Kaos walks.

A moment later a knock at the door. Once opened a man in an Ebony suit, Pale Ashe shirt, and a Blood Red tie stood there. "Excuse me, May I come in? I'm looking for someone and was told they might be here."

Without waiting for an answer they stepped across the threshold, after all silence was consent. Corrupt Human lawyers argued it all the time.

Looking at the three of them he smiled, though based on his features, build, and voice it was hard to tell whether the individual was male or female. Probably a shapeshifter, a polymorph, maybe a doppelganger. Something that blended it's features enough times that when not copying someone and/or playing a role it's neutral form was ambiguous.

For about the fifth time since his return, Van’s cell rings. The first few bars of Pink Floyd’s “Money” breaks the chatter in the room as he dismisses himself to the front porch area to take the call. “Apologies…now where were we? Ah yes… Mkael…Shadowfell ….right. Well, it would seem to me the only way to get someone out of the shadow fell is to go there and get them. I’m assuming he’s being held agains his will, otherwise it will be a very awkward and likely short trip. I can get us to the shadowfell plane easily enough. But finding him once we are there might be another trick. Either way I would suggest waiting until nightfall when the veil is thinnest. Until then, rest up, gear up? Maybe blow off some steam?” He remarked lighting a fresh cig on the porch.

He woke up as the last of his armour wss being put on him. He tried talking, another of his wise ass remarks, but his jaw wouldn't move.

"Stand," The Mistress of Shadows commanded from the corner, and watched as M'kael rose from the table, his movements stiff. He was trying to rebel against her command. But not even he could break the spell.

Standing straight he tried to sit down, his teeth grinding under the strain, but his body refused to comply. "I got the components and the spell from a sea hag, she was very helpful."

Walking around him she caressed his stolen armor. "I figured if you wanted it so bad, you might as well wear it." Sliding the visor down in place she smiled as his visage vanished behind the metal. Now he could serve her, and be hidden from those that wanted him. And if she needed him in bed... well he'd do that as well. No matter what his mood was.

Angela

Angela stepped forward and faced the man in the ebony suit, pale shirt, and a blood red tie.

“This is a popular house today.” Angela observed. “But all this planar travel does not go unnoticed. You may feel powerful right now, however I assure you, unfathomably powerful beings—like the gods and their angel assistants have noted your arrival and can be arrive as soon as trouble occurs.

“In fact, they can arrive before trouble starts because they are everywhere all at once. That is a nice movie too… you might want to watch it.” Angela joked. Then she got serious again “If you keep this discussion civil, we might be able to resolve your problem.

Who are you looking for and why?” She asked.

"Ah Yes, I apologize. I'm looking for Mr. Wolvenbane. He's to be taken into custody for the duration of the investigation. Per the Directive of the Justice Department. After the investigation, pending any additional charges for his actions here on campus during the recent events."

"May I come in?" He asked reaching into his jacket and pulling out a sheaf of documents. "I do have the required documentation for his Arrest, and removal from this facility."

To Wit:

M'Kael Wolvenbane of the House Nevermore shall be returned to custody of the Inquisition.

M'Kael Wolvenbane shall remain under Inquisitional Authority until such time as the Inquisition has determined if Mr. Wolvenbane shall incur additional charges or shall not incur additional charges.

Mr. Wolvenbane shall be remanded to the custody of Darkenwood Prison for the remainder of his sentence. If additional charges are to be placed he shall be tried in absentia.

Department of Justice
Inhuman Affairs Division

Watching as Angela read the documents he waited until she was finished.

"Now, if you could tell me where Mr. Wolvenbane is, I'll take him into custody and relieve you of his rather irritating presence. After which things here at the 'Academy' should return to normal."

“I’ll take that thank you” van said snapping the writ from the ebony suites man. Before he could speak he flipped open a silver case which dispensed a single business card. The emblazoned name of the well known firm. “Speaking as Mr. Wolvebane’s representation I am hereby informing you that we will be filing an injunction against the actions of the inquisition and the department of justice in regards to the mishandle of this poor young man’s alleged involvement in such actions.” The soft southern drawl oozed from Van’s silver tongue.

“Furthermore, as you can see that Mr. Wolvenbane is not currently present and therefore your writ has gone unserved. No you may not enter these premises without a direct warrant and without the owners of this domicile being present. I’m sure you understand sir severity of denying these truths in the eyes of the department and it would be a shame if such an upstanding individual such as yourself would ever be besmirched in conversations linking to anything resembling …entrapment or dare I say it…animus nocendi or foul play” … as he said the last part his voice echoed like a dozen hissing snakes as the ebony suited man began to sweat and looked as if he might vomit.

“Ergo, in absentia, do please send all further communications to my office regarding the matter of my clients affairs until further notification thereafter.” … he said as he closed the door on the fellows still gaping mouth.

Angela

Angela was not sure what was going on. She had heard the strange voice singing "The King of Night is Come!" and then this red tie guy showed up. She just assumed he was related. He was from the inquisition? That seemed unlikely.

Van on the other hand seemed to have a plan. So she was going to follow his lead

"YEAH... what he said" Angela stated pointing with her thumb at Van.

Looking at the door for a moment he asked his silent companion as she stood to the side of the doorway, unseen by the occupants. "Anything?"

"I detected several individuals inside. One on the main floor just inside the door. More than likely the one speaking to you, the other is in a sub level. But it's.. unusual."

Stepping forwards she looked through the walls and ground her hand moving slowly. "It's.. evil.. but it's not. Like it's fighting for possession of a pure soul. And i'm not sure who's winning. But until it wins and the victim loses I can't interfere."

"We'll let them play their game for now. The scry is ongoing. If M'Kael exits the residence everyone inside will be charged with harboring a fugitive," the man said as his features flowed and twisted. "As for a warrant, we don't really need one, the residence is on school grounds, the headmaster has given his approval."

"And since several murders have taken place we don't need a warrant, the entire property is a crime scene. As for probable cause... he's a convicted murderer."

"I'm not sure he's guilty, I did not detect evil on, or in, him, and a murderer would have it."

"Not my problem, he's a CONVICTED Murderer. That's all the law requires." The suit bearer replied as they walked past the parked cars andvehicles. "More evidence being removed no doubt."

"Nothing human," she replied, her hand on her sword hilt as she watched the businessmen going about their tasks.

“Well… if we weren’t going before we are now. I’m not exactly used to being on this side of the legal jargon but I’m pretty sure they know I’m full of shit. This place is burned. Like… not just from earlier but like… ya know … burned. We’ve got to find Mkael before they do AND before he ends up implicating us all.” Van said pacing a bit and loosening his stick tie. He was starting to sweat a bit and opened the top button of his collared shirt.

“For fucks sake… I thought we already did the good cop bad cop thing with what’s her face… the redhead… goddamn she was hot… Nevermind… not the point …. The point is… there’s too many fucking players and not enough pianos….” He started to unravel. He took a swig from a small silver flask…his yellow eyes dimmed slightly and he slowed his breathing… he reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a small irony comb…walking over to a nearby mirror he slicked his hair back above the horns and collected himself…”Sorry… still adjusting” …. What do you guys think? About Mkael I mean?

Examining the imprint in the ground The Suits companion said, "Should you not have told them about Ms. Devonshire's situation?"

"Fuck them, they want to play games." He replied, "Then they pay the price. Besides I did not speak with Ms. Devonshire. And that matter was personal not professional."

Speaking softly the red-haired female twisted her fingers and drew a glowing design in the air, "Revelio.." she sighed as a shadowy form appeared, it's jaws clamping down on Wolvenbane before it faded again.

"Was that a dragon?"

"It appears to have been yes, and there is a hint of urine at this location." she said indicating a human sized left foot print

"Dragon Fear. Black?"

"No, the head shape was wrong for a Black or a Green, I'd say a Red or Blue. To warm in this area for a White, and the positive ones don't normally eat humanoids. And not swampy enough for a green."

"I'll inform the inquisitor that a Dragon is in the area."

"No," she said standing up. "It's left. Unless there is another sighting soon, it came, it left. It had a goal in mind. It didn't attack anyone else, just him. Maybe he's finally dead, and the Inquisitor will get off my back."

Picking up a piece of metal she slid it into her cloak as her suited companion looked at the sky, "And if it comes back?"

"You'll die." She commented as she headed out. She didn't comment about the undead she'd seen in the vision. They were destroyed as well.

There was a lot going on, a lot of players and manipulations. All wrapped around this group.

Why?

Angus

Angela remained silent on the question of M’Kael, which was odd for the talkative vampire. Angus thought. He decided if Angela was not going to say anything, he would.

“I agree. Something weird is going on with M’Kael. But we are struck here until Ravyn is done in the basement. We have to stay here. After she is done, we head back to shadow fell.” Angus reasoned

“Sorry, I was just thinking” Angela told Van and Angus. “I agree, but that voice we heard, I think it might have come from the basement. It just happened to line up to the arrival of the inquisition folks.”

The basement, hell the whole house seemed to be empty of sound. Voices weren't carrying sound and vibrating from walls like they were. It was like the whole place had been put under a sound proofing spell or ward. Was it because of Ravyn's actions in the basement? Some weird side effect of the ritual she hadn't warned about? The Inquisition trying to stop people inside casting spells? The Engineer and his cronies?

Hours passed making the combat outside a blink in time in comparison.

The door to the basement opened and Ravyn walked out, at least it looked like Ravyn. But it both was and wasn't Ravyn. Not as she had been at least. She still looked the same except for her eyes, where they had been a doe brown now they were burning embers.

They myriad scars were gone, her skin smooth and flawless. Any baby fat she'd had was gone as well leaving her as toned as a champion cheerleader. Her tits and hips hadn't grown any so she was still far smaller than Gem, Angela, Lorelei, or Dairie in those aspects. Unfortunately for her she was apparently cursed to have the body of a slightly curvy boy. With a mid size B cup she'd be a member of the itty bitty titty committee until/if she had kids.

Whatever else had happened in the basement any and all hair below her jaw was gone, burned to ash. Leaving her rather feminine bits bare and easy to gaze upon. She was still pale as a corpse though as she looked at Angela and Van.

She blinked a few times, slowly as she focused on the here and now. Though her eyes returned to their normal doe brown hue when she did. Moving across the floor she walked, but the way of it was weird for some reason. After a few steps it became noticeable, she wasn't actually touching the floor. Almost, maybe an 1/8" separated her from the wood but it was just enough to make her steps, off.

"Where is everyone?" she asked rather slowly, like she wasn't sure her voice was her own. "How long?" she asked with a dry throat.

“We’re here… well most of us…. You were down there a long while…. Did it… work?” Van asked as he slowly brought around a small throw from the nearby chair, bringing it up over her shoulders.

"Not as expected, some of the.. materials were not real. But the individual and I have come to an arrangement." Ravyn replied, as Van slid the throw blanket over her naked shoulders, her firm tits were so close, the nipples hard as diamonds in the room. "Thank you, everyone. I'm not sure I can repay all the costs for collecting the things I needed, but I do thank you."

Angela

“Welcome back Ravyn” Angela said with no real feeling in her voice. “Hopefully, your recent experience has adjusted your personality for the better.”

“ANGELA” Angus bellowed “She has been through a lot” He added with a lower voice

“SO HAVE WE!” Angela barked back. A stern look from the minotaur and Angela agreed “Fine, sorry for my comment.” Then she looked at everyone in the room

“Ok, no time to rest or recover… we need to go back to Shadowfell and rescue M’Kael. This time, we are going through the front door. We will be meeting the Raven Queen. She has the power to destroy countless worlds. She can change our fates with the snap of her finger.

You cannot fight her. She is almost a god. However, the way to avoid her phenomenal power is via the smallest things. It might seem insignificant in the grand scheme of the multiverse, but our choices hold the power to change her and thus our reality.”

“What are you talking about?” Angus asked

“The Raven Queen is trapped by her fascination with the past. She sits in her fortress, amidst all the memories of the world, looking at the ones that please her most as though they were glittering jewels. We are going to trade memories for M’Kael” Angela proposed.

Gem

Angus’ bellow had awoken Gem. She slipped on her black dress and walked back into the living room with Ravyn, Angus, Van, Angela. However, she looked different than the last time they had seen her. Her blonde hair was more lustrous than ever. The color had an inner glow to it. Her skin had become more golden and her eyes shown like honey in sunlight. Her eyes look like they were made of sparkling Yellow Tourmaline gems.

“Ravyn! You made it” Gem exclaimed and ran over to give to her a hug. Angus hand grabbed her arm and stopped her.

“Gem… what happened to you?” Angus asked.

Gem saw all the surprised looks in her direct and then caught her reflection in the mirror above the fire place.

“I have gained additional magical powers,” she told Angus, in a matter-of-fact way. “Now release my arm, or I turn you into a toad”

Van tried to be subtle but could hardly avert his eyes from Ravyn. Each time she spoke it was like he was hearing her voice for the first time. It was all very new for him. He hadn’t ever really…cared for anyone before. He fought to focus his gaze elsewhere. Which between Angela’s authoritarian prowess and the “new and improved “ Gem … there was plenty of fuel for anyone’s lustful imagination. But this was more that that. Did he…? He shook his head and paced away from the group , striking another cig, he focussed on what Angela had just told them about the Queen.

“Memories? What kind of memories? You seem to have a great deal of knowledge already about the situation.,. Perhaps we can use that to our advantage?”

Walking over Ravyn took Van's cigarette and put it to her lips, in haling deeply she burned the cigarette to ash, the smoke filling her mouth and lungs as her face charred away and her eyes turned to burning embers. "Burn with me, slayer of the innocent." she growled as the smoke wafted across his face.

Turning to Angela her face returned to human, "Why would I need a personality adjustment?" She asked, the Devil's coin rolling across her fingers. Palming it she held the Knuckle Bones. "Wanna roll he dice and play a game?"

And then Gem was hugging her and Ravyn rather enjoyed the physical contact before Angus seperated them. Yeah, better to not get comfortable with anyone anyways.

The blanket had shifted leaving one shoulder and breast bare, and not quite covering her ass in the back, leaving a full moon for Van to enjoy as she spoke to the others.

Angela

"No" Angela said firmly to Ravyn's question about playing dice. "Not an improvement in personality" She whispered to Angus. Then she said louder.
“Angus, can you fetch the 40-year-old Chache D'Or Tawny Port from the Kitchen. I’m going to need it.”

Angus had just finished pulling Gem away from Ravyn. He did not want to leave her side. She had physically changed, and he wanted to make sure, Gem was still Gem on the inside.

“Now?” He asked

“Yes” Angela stated firmly.

“Ok” Angus grunted as he let go of Gem’s arm and walked to the kitchen.

“The Raven Queen was once a very power elf queen. She tried to reunite the dark elves with other elves by turning herself into a deity. Her massive spell, that was powered by her soul and the souls of her followers sort of worked. But it was corrupted at the last second. She and her followers, now called the shadar-kai, were dragged to shadowfell. I think the spell actually created shadowfell, but I’m not sure about that.

Corellon, good elf god, and Lolth, dark elf god, considered her actions to be treason, so they tried to erase the memory of her existence. To avoid disappearing entirely, she drew memories of her existence from the Shadowfell itself in order to sustain her identity. She became the Raven Queen.

As you can see from the story, she like to collect memories. She particularly likes memories with strong emotions, typically associated with loss and tragedy.” Angela looked at everyone in the room. “You all have that in spades. I think only Angus is weak in loss and tragedy.”

Angus came back into the room with the port wine. “What am I weak in?” He asked

“Nothing” Gem answered.

“Any other questions?” Angela asked everyone.

"Yes, how many things are living inside your head, Ravyn?" Gem asked Ravyn.

"Things? Are you calling me a thing?" Ravyn snapped, glaring at Gem as her eyes turned to blackened ashes and her skin seared away, leaving her with a hole charred into her cheek revealing the black teeth and ember throat inside. "Or are you referring to me?"

The coin rolled across her knuckles as skin seared and turned to flame, a dry chuckle escaping her/it's/their throat. She/it looked pissed but without facial muscles it was hard to tell, mostly she looked like a molten humanoid skull.

The coin flipped and knuckle bones danced across her flaming fingers.

Gem

“I did not mean to offend” Gem said as an apology. “Hi everyone” She added to all the people inside Ravyn. “Any chance you can integrate into one personality?” Gem asked “I never know who I’m talking too”

“M’Kael had this too… just do the best you can” Angus suggested Gem. “Integration of beings I don’t think is possible. They are completely separate entities. I think our goal is to make sure they all get along." Gem nodded in understanding to Angus' suggestion

“If we are done… can we depart to the Shadowfell?” Angela asked everyone.

“You heard the lady… into the Caddy. Yes there’s plenty of room… it’s uh…. Bigger on the inside.” He said eying Angus. “I just have to make two quick stops. I think I have access to something that might be useful. He held the door open…”UHM Ravyn….?” He said looking down at her gothic yet…. Immensely arousing body…”you wanna change or is this your complete new look? Not that I mind either way.”

"You're always talking to both of us, for we are forever and never sleep." The burning face said as Ravyn's skin healed ntil it was pure and unblemished once more. "M'Kael is not like me, not even close." Ravyn commented as she headed for the bathroom and her clothes.

"I'll be back in a moment," she said melencholic."I'm sure everyone here would prefer I walked around nkedd, but I tend to get cold."

After a few minutes she came back down from the bathroom. She wore her black and grey skirt and school sweater, with grey socks and black boots. Walking out she joined them at the car. "I'm ready."
